Has anyone seen a car in Volcano Red? If so, do you have a pic you can post and what did you think of it?
I hear you, me to. That's why I spec'd mine fire black with ultra lightweight wheels in stealth finish with black calipers and steel brakes. I couldn't bear that someone would see my beautiful fire black 12C and say "hey did you notice the $#%^ on your wheels?"
I also wanted to give an update on the MOE program. (McLaren Owners Experience) Last week I mentioned that I had asked the dealer to get some exterior styling aspects of the GT3 on my 12C. This would have been the third and most expensive modification level in the MOE program. Answer was no go but you can completely customize the exterior of your 12C for between 160-200k. I passed. I did however request side door leather panels to match the darker of my two tone interior colors for which I have a prelim quote of $2k. All in all, even though I didn't get the GT3 styling elements that I was seeking...I have to tell you that I'm very impressed with my local dealer and with the NA Sales Manager Peter Freiberger for taking my inquiry and getting me answers in a couple of days. Could I expect to get that timely response from other super car manufacturers?

Well, it's been suggested that the lightweights are somewhat phallic in their design. Not such a bad thing, remember the E-Type Jag when it was launched was perceived to be one giant $%#& !!! In any case, they are both nice designs IMO and I'll probably end up with a set of each. The lightweights do a great job of showing off the CCBs. Image Unavailable, Please Login
the reddish tinge is the new volcano orange,they decided to darken it from the original press car colour ,thats why i went for it

just read a small piece on autoexpress uk on the net,with chris goodwin ,saying they have already broken the top gear track record!!,im thinking veyron ss and ariel atom v8 ,so 1.15 ,4 seconds quicker than the 458,he says they had to decide wether they want to inch ahead of the competition or SMASH them! they have been working for a while on the next two model ranges in the sim also they definatley have a ring time

Re-reading the article, I continue to be impressed with Goodwin. I get more of the design and branding message from him than I do from Sheriff or Joseph. He has a no-nonsense way to him that I think really meshes with the purpose of the product. Earning his money, that guy. p.s. I wonder who they consider to be the true Top Gear record holder? Perhaps the Veyron SS. Not sure they would consider the Atom a viable competitor. In fact, he could even have been referring to the LP670-4 SV, since that is the fastest car with semi-normal production volume. In which case, 1:19s would be the time to beat.
Well, track record is track record. It seems to me they must be referring to Atom's time. Especially, as they mention smashing the competition. Still a time of 1.15 or so is very hard to believe.

i know they were doing 1.17 with the XP,before all the aero,optimized handleing and esp and softer compound tyres as well as launch,so 1.15 well in reach,also dont forget we were all thinking 9.8 to 200kph would be stonking when the 458 was 10.4,then they dropped 8.9 on us! When chris says smashed i think he means it.now i really believe a close to 7 min ring time
