I think this car is excellent and just an appreciating asset..one of the few you can feel safe about saying that. I know there are some out there that think this car should go for the $150K to $170K range..

    HOG WASH

this car IMO is worth every penny north of $210K mark..it sure wont be able to be bought for anything under that mark in just a very short time.

The shop doing the service work will be starting that car in the next couple of weeks. I have my DD Countach and Diablo in getting there fluids changed and the spring time freshening up right now. Once they are done with them then they will start on the 5000S. thanks for asking. check with me in a few weeks.

Great looking S2...nice job on the restoration. I would put the front bumper grills back to aluminum finish though.

Yes, very minor things to be corrected to buyers taste..BUT heck...I will make sure that gets thrown in for free to the next buyer.

They were orignally black, just kept it what it was from the factory.

They were black from the factory...? I really doubt it but I will let the experts chime in.
    An easy fix though...:)

I think Tony's thinking is logic-based in consideration of recent comps for recently sold Countach S S2s.

Personally I think this car can & should bring more than those comps.

The bumper-grille components were supplied and installed as a bare-aluminum item at the factory for all standard Countachs, but its not the first time we have seen them painted black post-production. Some prefer them this way, obviously.

I am sure I dont see all the sales that trade hands..but the most "recent" S2 I was involved with in the last 6 months brought $190K and IMO this is a slight click above that car in both cosmetics and mechanics...so I think we are all in the ball park..

One thing FOR SURE with out question...this car will not get any less exspensive in the coming years..a car to buy, enjoy and know you are not taking a bath on it...just isn't going to happen.

I've had my eye on a new 670 SV...and I can tell you that a great Countach such as this, has as much or more of an appeal then a new 2010 Lamborghini...which says alot for a 26 year old car and also alot for the future prices of Countach's...

A beautiful restored car that sold for $165K

Hence my thoughts on current value.

But no doubt, they will go up when times are better.

After all, there were only 150 "Lowbody" cars built, less still around.

And more than 150 people who want them...

Asking price is one thing, selling price is another.

Also history and ORIGINALITY play a huge role in value.

Scott's latest find is a beauty for sure.

    Tony

There is a picture in the forum showing our exhibition stand at the Retro Classics Show in Stuttgart this year, and we understand that some members are wondering about the aluminum panels shown for the Countach LP400. We are a restauration workshop in Kornwestheim near Stuttgart, and are specialised in bodywork and aluminum fabrication. All panels shown have been entirely fabricated in our workshop. Besides the panels for the Countach models we have also made parts and structure restauration for Islero, Espada, Maserati 3500 etc. For more information about our capabilities please visit our website: www.bodyconcept-kfz.de or contact us directly for all your bodywork needs.
