LIKE the Kardashian Girls LIKE to LIKE use “Like” in LIKE Every Sentence

So, like , are like saying they like say the word like alot????

 

I don't get it either, Kim K is kinda hot in a trashy way since she is a porn star but other than that I don't get why they are on TV...

 

She is dull and whinny as hell. I don't get why they're so popular. As for Kim, I don't think she'll be as attractive as she gets older.

 

+1. I dont think she will age well. As for them being on TV is beyond me. They are not actresses or supermodels. People think they are funny and glamorous. Only in America can you capitalize on the masses like the way they do. All the more power to them.

 

The usage I hate the most is using "like" as a synonym for "said":

"So he's like, want to go to a movie?"
"And I was like, yeah!"
"And he's like, which one"
"I'm like, I don't care... you pick"

I took a deposition of a 17-year-old girl who said "like" over 850 times. For real. I looked it up in the word index in the back. The transcript was about 200 pages long.

good lord - did she get to read her transcript? I wonder if these people/kids would get it if they either read what they were saying, or perhaps saw vid of themselves speaking . .. .

Every now and then we will interview a brand new lawyer who looks great on paper - resume, writing sample, GPA. Then they come in and start speaking . . . Try to find the polite way of saying "I could never, in a million years, put you in front of a client!!!!"

"OMG, the judge, like, totally granted our Motion to, like, Dismiss."

 

Seems all of the corporate world is going that way. Not that I'm big fan of formal dress code, but open the door a crack.....

I'm 31, and I absolutely cringe at the way people speak that I've interviewed. Probably why I've landed every job I've ever interviewed for. Sometimes, you do have to sound a bit conceited to get your point across. It seems to me that those with the most humble beginnings stay the most humble, and treat every professional process, well, professionally.

 

I mean like, you know, and I'm all, and then he's all, and I'm like whatever..
