Is it possible that Red Bull can win by qualifying and nobody else gets within the 107 rule? AHAHAHAHAAA! Awesome quote. Bad day for Rubens...we'll see though...this is a crazy race usually.
Redbull back to their old tricks again, Ferrari looking useless, Mclaren better than we thought, petrov looking quick as does Kobayashi, MB looks average. Thats sums it up I think. Tomorrow should be interesting to say the least... or I hope it will be.
This year... qualifying pace and race pace... two separate topics. Add to that... tire management.... Forza Ferrari!!!!
No so much up grade as retrograde (not a small city near Kiev). Their "upgrade" was what caused them headaches. No one should be surprised at RB. They're the class of the field in a number of respects. I'm beginning to suspect that we shouldn't be surprised at Ferrari either.
Pardon the stupidity, but why not use the KERS? I mean the gloves are off at this point, nothing to hide. Maybe RB feel it is even more demoralizing to get pole and not even use the KERS? Was Bernie concerned about the the 107% rule excluding even more cars?
My 02c; Out and no! I've been one of their often outspoken "supporters" in the past, but that was a complete embarrassment to F1. I'd still like to seem 'em improve (can't get any worse!), but until they can get inside 107 they shouldn't be out there. Cheers, Ian
Enough is enough. This is the pinnacle of motor sport after all not "let's not keep score" kid's sports.
Worded that wrong - Should be out and YES, I do care........ I don't want these clowns embarrassing my favorite sport, about which I very much care. Cheers, Ian
RB removed KERS because they believe the effect it has on braking stability when harvesting energy is not worth the gain on the straights. Also, RB could add ballast to other areas without the KERS system in place. So what they are doing for tomorrow, is using KERS at the start of the race only and are using a tiny battery which will be trickle charged just before the race. This is RB's way of essentially giving two fingers to the Fia and their green solutions. Who would have thought of a KERS system that does not recover any energy! Hah, it's funny, but it also may hose their race as everyone else is running the system. That combined with the passing aids available to drivers, Red Bull is relying on their superior braking balance and aero and not speed. I suspect Mclaren will do well tomorrow and maybe even Ferrari and Rosberg. I don't think Sauber has the race pace to be where they are for long.
One can hope. The non-KERS RBs will provide a point of interest at least (as they vanish into the middle-distance?)
RB has to remember all the extra pit stops and how valuable KERS is to them when exiting the pits etc. I believe they are making a mistake, but that's just my opinion.
What a dissappointment from the Fcars...felt like a kid on christmas morning watching qualifying this morning (finally!) hoping the guys in red would pull something out...and then it was like a roundhouse kick to the face from Chuck Norris when RB goes out and blows everyone away with the cruise control on. It's gonna be a LONG season...
So running KERS this year is optional, as in 2009? I thought everyone had to run it and the associated 80kg weight penalty? Is RB running a nonfunctioning KERS system and free to use the 80 Kg as they see fit for better weight distrib.? "This is RB's way of essentially giving two fingers to the Fia and their green solutions. Who would have thought of a KERS system that does not recover any energy!" Not sure I understand what you mean. Thanks,
RB is jacking with the rules somehow getting their wing to flex as it does. Flexing the nosecone maybe? Regardless, they have a loophole no one has figured out yet. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hang about Is, you'll be asking for sprinklers and Medals next.. Lets see how these new tyres shape up or not yet..
IIRC The FIA is bringing in a stricter test for flexing wings, consider them banned especially if RB have found a loop hole.
+1 You're still only allowed 8 (?) motors, but do with them whatever you want.... Good thought, Cheers, Ian
Believe me the other teams will be knocking down Todts door if they get a clue something untoward is going on, now they have seen the speed of them.
Go cryin' to teacher? Crimminy! We're going to need SOMETHING to talk about and it looks like on track action isn't going to provide it.
