I'd like to see some investment in facilities for young kids to take their cars where they can have fun, drags, burnouts etc in a safe environment.

 

A skid pan so their first slide isn't in rain on a busy road. Let them learn to correct without lives being on the line if they're slow getting the hang of it.
Back in the day I had empty wet supermarket parking lots and dirt sub-divisions to hang it out in for years before being old enough to get a license.

Especially with $4.50 bottles of Pepsi and $8.50 hotdogs etc.etc.

What we are talking about here is tourism money, they are going to spend it on something that promotes tourism in Victoria, not hospitals and playgrounds, bottom line is if they drop the GP they will try and get something else, maybe a yacht race or the world ping pong championships or spend 50mill on American TV ads (shrimps on barbies and all that) the money IS ALLOCATED TO TOURISM so its a GP or Lara Bingle ads!!

 

They should get Hayden to promote the GP

110,000 people actually isn't a lot of people for an international motor racing event.

The V8 race in Adelaide gets around 80,000 people on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Melbourne should not only get more because it has more people but also because it is an international event.

Monaco only gets 37000



The lower numbers could be because the race is on @ 5pm. They should just bite the bullet and make it a night race.

 

110,000 on Sunday alone, 104,000 on the Saturday.

Townsville broke V8 Supercar records for attendance back in 2009 and it only had 160,000 over the 3 days.
