National ZCCA 24th international convention is in my town (I designed logo) http://www.zccazconvention.com/conventions/2011/index.htm
The event is all week & includes track days at a 2 mi, 10-turn road course at Grand Prize America Avenue on Hutchinson Island. Would you show up in your F car or only in Z car? Do you think the Z people would appreciate the F & enjoy seeing it? What would you do?

Without a doubt, take your Ferrari. You're certainly not a stranger, as you designed their club logo. I have no tolerance for individuals who can't appreciate other marques. Go. Enjoy the cars, company, and track time.

It appears, per their website, this function is a really big deal to Z Car owners.

Nowhere did I see any statement even vaguely inviting non-Z cars. While it may be true a non-Z vehicle would not be "run off at gunpoint," one wonders why crashing their party is desirable.

"Showing up" in a non-Z, IMHO, is simply bad form...

In 2000 my wife and I went up to Elkhart Lake for Labor Day weekend in the 365 for a nice non-track related get away. Little did I know that the PCA was having an event there that weekend. To add insult to injury I was staying at the Victorian Inn(or whatever they were calling it at the time) which of course was were the PCA was having their dinner. Needless to say I got a few odd looks.

Any car can be at the parking lot of any specific model show. I would not expect to have my car shown with the cars being shown. You can drive anything you want to that parking lot. I think bad form would be any attempt to overshadow the cars of the day.

I went to the Lotus nat'l event in Snowmass last year and took the 360. They loved it.

I think they were impressed a Fcar owner was interested in their cars.

Go for it and may the horse be with you.

Thanks, for noticing I did do the "Z Isalnd" logo - as well as ads, T-shirts, posters, polos, hats, etc. My V8 Z will already be there - probably not being judged tho.

My engine compartment is not pretty. Not freshly painted w/ headers, etc. rusted & would not do well in the modified group. It does have a wickedly distinct rumble that is always a joy to hear.

There is a gentleman local to me that has a yellow 260Z with an LS1 Corvette engine in it. Wicked all the way.

Seems obvious to me.... if you own a Z car take it. If not take the F car.

Leaving the Z car home and taking an F car would make you look like a horse's rear in my book.

IMO, half the guys will love it and think it's cool, and half the guys will think you're pompous and trying to show everyone up.

    Do what you want.

If the parking area for this show is safe, I don't see why not bringing the F-car there and park it away from the Z. It's the Z show afterall, and showing a bit of respect isn't gonna hurt.

I remember a guy turning up at a Renault Clio Sport event in an F430 Spider. His other car was a Clio Sport and he'd only just got the 430. The Clio guys loved it of course!

It really depends. If the show is classic or vintage, real car guys are happy to see any model or make of cars. If its newer cars, jackasses rule.

As a Z and Ferrari owner I wouldn't hesitate to take either. If the group knows you then there shouldn't be an issue either way.

As I said my Z will already be there. At over 420 hp my 240Z would leave my F in the dust... in a strait line. I would drive my supercharged Miata or Ferrari to other event activaties.
