Yup, signed up for ECC but not going for tomorrow's drive... too early for me...

There are *some* exhausts available like these http://www.mtm-online.de/en/Audi/A8-D3/4-2-V8-246-kW-334hp-Quattro?FZID=A8D3246Q

Might want to have a talk with the service manager at PA 'cos he's in charge, name's Quek I think. Pretty knowledgeable. Handling-wise the A8 is a lost cause... like driving a boat on land.

might want to consider meeting us for bfast at 1deg15 at abt 9.

yes will pay a visit to PA to see what they have to offer but not expecting too much,

even in "dynamic" setting , car is too floaty, may need roll bar, spacers .im not sure i can change springs without screwing up the air suspension, brakes are worn, will also need new rotors and pads . go sotck or try some slotted /vented cross drilled ebc stuff

thanks for the mtm link will slowly explorer and digest whats availab in market

Hi Jon, thanks for recommending Kian Teong. I installed new brake pads (ordered from Formula Dynamics in the US) and got the front rotors turned. The brakes are good as new now, if not better. All in for just over $1k. Pretty amazing savings over Hong Seh's $6k quote for new rotors and pads.

Oh and check this out this awesome ad by an exotic car rental agency: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W462g9V8ao[/ame]

No prob mate. Sharing good deals & glad you like it, but how much did those brake pads cost you? I thought that turning a rotor is less than $100? Didn't remember that you need it for a Ferrari.

Yes, heard about this sports exhaust option in other threads. Was comparing the spec between this & 458, size wise, it's just 2~3cm smaller. I suspect that being a turboed engine, it will need a sports exhaust to bring some live into it.

Arggh! Was sleeping like a log this morning & forgot all about the drive :(

Tim, it's the air suspension & unless you want to get rid of it, very little you can do about it. Unless you can find or custom some shocks with diff damping & lowering springs etc it'll be tough.

there's also another something like DB5007 where the guy made the 5 look like an "S"

How about "GE fan" for me? :D

just changed all 4 tyres to p zeros , a bit better because 255 all round which is stock size (prev set 245,too small) slightly better with the dynamic suspension setting and using paddle shifter but it aint no sports car and never will be. probably will go stock rotors and pads or shld i follow kyle"s example n flip rotors around and maybe ebc pads? rotors worn too thin tho imo so wld like a better maybe slotted vented set of rotors and sportier pads

Oh yes, now that you reminded me! I was travelling & didn't check my email on this & think they did quoted on your 22", I remembered card was accepted & it was a breeze before. Anyway, glad that you've gotten yours. 22" sounds like a fair deal to me. Not sure if Pzeros are more expensive but a local guy quoted me $900+ on a 20" & needs to be indented.

I'd better look into mine again!

What's the weight of the car? May have to start ripping out the seats :D Kidding, but that's what I wanted to do on my old M5 & they are easily 30-50kg each.

You have an addiction on changing brake kits huh? How long are you going to keep this car? But you're right, heavy car+high speed driving=better brakes! Can you believe the old M series have only one pot kit only? (though I think it's monobloc)

There's a shop in Ubi that sells AP racing kits & they can have the mounting bell customed in Japan for you so you can always transfer the set-up to the next car by just changing the mountings. Most BBK should last well over 50K km unless you track it. They quoted me about $4K for 4 pot & slightly more for 6 pot but need to check your rim clearance again....

Otherwise, changing just rotors & pads should be easy in the pocket. Just have any mechanics look @ it & see if it's worthwhile to machine down. The problem with skimming is sometimes if they didn't do it properly, there'll be uneven wear then add shims etc. quite a pain to keep visiting them.

Could definitely use the help of a sports exhaust. Stock sounds uninspiring.

Yeah Lung, tell me about it! I can't believe it's been a couple of years since you pulled up in front of my place in the Scuderia and I played Halo on the Xbox with your son. It was great to meet you again in a different context. My mom enjoyed herself thoroughly too. I'll be heading to UCL in London in late September this year.

The full set of Kevlar pads from Formula Dynamics cost US$680 inclusive of shipping. Installation plus turning the front rotors at Kian Teong cost S$180.

    Turning cost S$20 per rotor.
