I finally got to drive the GTO home today. It was parked in front of the dealership for a couple of hours while we ate lunch and walked around. People were jamming on their brakes from 55mph and doing U-turns on the highway to get a look and take some photo's. The car is just stunning visually and just incredible to drive. The exhaust note is the best I've heard on any car anywhere. The handling, effortless power, ergonomics of the interior, are all perfect. I feel like this car was made just for me. It wraps around you when you sit in it and it constantly talks to you while driving. I will never push the button to raise the panel covering the radio. No need for music. For me this is officially the best car in the world. Sorry for the bad pics. The sun was setting when I got home.

Congratulations brother, beautiful car and stunning collection.....the RS2 is a beast :)

Your initial thoughts on the GTO are great to hear....sounds like a perfect match of car and owner ! The GTO delivers on so many levels of sensory enjoyment....fantastic response, scintillating performance and thrilling sound....just a brilliant package (I'm not biased or anything)

Very pretty and mean looking. The CF side panels look good in that color combination. What a beast. Enjoy driving her. Makes what is normally a very mean-looking Porsche look pretty tame.

Hmmm that's a tough one. The cars are both 600hp beasts, but very different.

The GT2RS is a rear engine twin turbo on steroids built into an RS chassis. 6 speed manual, very stiff, very quick handling, a bit twitchy, head snapping acceleration, feels light on it's feet for a Porsche Turbo, muted exhaust, average interior quality. Rock solid overall build quality.

The GTO is raw power, front engined V12, smooth ride in sport, linear acceleration. The exhaust sound is superb and makes the car feel even faster than it is. Build quality is exceptional.

I'm 99.9% certain that I would be faster on the track with the 2RS, but the looks and the sound of the GTO give it the winners trophy. The total driving experience is just better.

It's also interesting to note that both were designed to be this years Icon car for each brand, but neither manufacturer chose to rebody the cars. Both are just slightly modified examples of their base models. A little carbon fiber, new front fascia, rear diffuser and hood among other stuff . I guess that has do with the cost to amortize tooling more than anything else. Profits still rule.

That is just awesome. I saw one in the dealer showroom in Vegas and I think they are still mopping the drool off the floor.

    Good luck with it!

The car is very unique. Still trying to figure out how to top this interior with my 458 Spider Spec. I know I want Cuoio Leather and Nero Alcantara, but beyond that I'm wide open.

Glad to hear that the GTO delivered to you what it has been delivering all this time to us. Now we can really say ... welcome to the club (and Scuderia GTO).

It will put all these endless discussions about "is this car worthy of this badge" and "it's just a Scuderia version of the 599" and "it is just marketing from Ferrari to move some left-over chassis" ... in a totally different perspective, now that you own it and have driven it.

Now for the real good part: it is yours and there to use whenever you feel like it and that feeling my friend ... only gets more intense with every mile you put on the clock of this mind-blowing machine.

    Forza GTO! Forza Scuderia GTO!

Sounds EVEN better than a Sox sweep of the Bronx boys in the AL Championship--and then a victory over the Redbirds in the Series... :)

Seriously, a huge congrats! Beautiful example...As M put it--yours for the using whenever YOU decide to turn the key. And from experience, use it you will....

    Enjoy the New England Spring!

    Forza Scuderia GTO

Congrats on such a beautiful car!

Pictures really don't do this car justice...

I'll be up sometime soon to get her looking pretty.

That was my goal, so I'm glad you're happy with it. I have a bunch of pictures of the install that I'll send over when I get a spare minute.

    Talk to you soon...
