Very cool! I just love seeing the pictures of "angry" P4/5C pounding around the track. I feel 12 again... Hehehe All the best, Andrew.
Nice. So after you guys retired the car, what was the driver feed back? Do you need to make some more tuning adjustments before the next race, or is all that the car really needs in more breathing? Because in the turns it seems as though you can drive around who ever you want, when ever you want.
Wow! So they could push it pretty hard then. Next race do you think the organizers will allow you guys less restriction?
As for your cooling issues. I'm assuming you already know about Evans coolant? It has a high boiling point of over 350ºF+ per the info on their website. And you run it straight, no water.http://www.evanscooling.com/frequently-asked-questions/ I don't know if the Ring will allow you to run it in the car, but it could help with the cooling problem you guys ran into, in addition to the electric fan?
Jim: Sorry to hear it went so mediocre. I - like everyone here - was (and am) routing for your success. Even if she is not the fastest - rest assured she is the best looking car out there. All my best wishes that you get the restriction lifted a bit and that you have the chance to show the world what she, you, PF, and Ferrari can do as privateers. In any case, it has been awesome to sit on the sidelines and watch this project progress. As I have said in the past (and I'm still not sure how I'll get there) I want to be YOU when I grow up!! When racing against Factory teams from companies such as BMW and the car that just won Sebring moving up 14 places in 7 laps when 169 cars are creating a bit of traffic isn't too bad.
An "encouraging defeat" at the race debut...like Piacenza '47... Maybe in the next race you will win... MPC
Isn't too bad??????? "whatchootalkinbout Willis" That is BADASS!!! I really hope they let you guys run bigger restrictors next time.
Just wait till you are on the start/finish straight 15min. before the race, you will LOVE it! It might be a bit crowed especially around "her" though I am just wondering, the winning BMW M3 GT are also running in the E1XP class, what's the difference (beside a bit Nordschleife experience ) are they allowed to run less air restrictions? If so why? On another note why are they in the E1XP class at all, the M3 is based on a production car isn't it? Ok enough off topic...
That's interesting. I have never heard of this product before. On a side note, is there any harm in running evan's coolant in a daily street driven vehicle that isn't high performance?
As far as I understand the BMW is built to IMSA/ALMS regulations which are not comparable with European FIA race classes.
We're very happy with it in P 4/5. It lowered operating temperatures about 15 degrees. If it's race legal we're going to use it in P 4/5 C.
