that's why you can only pick one driver 9 times; otherwise it would be the JJ and Kyle show. what I haven't been able to figure out is if the A/B/C lists are fixed for the whole season, or if they move up or down as things go along (esp. since the full season is broken down into segments).
1) I know 2) I have been playing this game a few years, they do not swap drivers between tiers. That's why I said some drivers are in the wrong tiers. Jeff Gordon went, what, 60+ races since a win, he should not be in the A list, neither should Kenseth, and Bowyer SHOULD be in the A list. The C list makes a shambles with the 'start and park' drivers. I simply don't understand how you can even get a sponsor if you run 20 laps and park EVERY WEEK. What would be your mentality, if YOU drove a car but KNEW you were going to ALWAYS park it? How could you possibly even get psyched to show up?
okay, thanks. and that kinda sucks about the lists being fixed. oh well.... there was an article I think in C&D a while back about start and park, it was pretty interesting. choose your races wisely and you can actually make an okay living running one lap a week. but yeah I think the whole concept of start and park sucks. edit: found article! and it was 2 years ago http://www.caranddriver.com/features/09q1/the_quitting_game-sport
I haven't followed Sprint cup in a couple years... but got a chance to attend this Saturday night's race. Anyone care to give me the soap opera summaries? Who has a grudge with who? Who made fun of who's momma? What spoiled drivers decided in the offseason that they fancy themselves as owners?
Kyle Busch is wearing the black hat this season, Harvick has become the guy in the white hat (somewhat improbably), Dale Jr and JPM are looking to make headlines for actually winning a race, and Jimmy Johnson is the most invisible 5-time champion in the history of sports. Carl Edwards and one of the Kesolowski's aren't too fond of each other, Roush is up to their old engine shenanigans (like they were in the early 90's), Jeff Gordon has gray hair, Darrell Waltrip has realized he ran out of material several years ago, and I still don't know what language Larry McReynolds speaks. I think that sums it up.
Don't listen to Chas, he knows nothing about NASCAR 'cuz he spelled JJ's first name as "Jimmy"... Plus he can't tell Brian from Brad, so he referred to the latter as (spelled incorrectly of course)... What a poser.
I'm easily confused to be honest, I had no idea it was spelled "Jimmie", not Jimmy. which I think says a lot about what a forgettable personality he is.
you are wound up tight, my friend that's not to say that they are cheating (at least, not more than anyone else), but that Roush was for a long time the technical innovator in NASCAR; then Hendrick and JGR seemed to take that over. with the new engine package Ford/Roush has (FR9), they seem to have some of their technical swagger back. mega bummer that Yeley didn't do better in NASCAR. him and Blaney.
soooooooo........ you go from alleging cheating to calling it 'technical swagger'? Interesting. (I'm not wound THAT tight) If nascar was concerned about full fields, they could do two things about it: 1) Allow teams to have more than four cars (which they limited them to 4 a year or two ago). 2) Lower the number of cars starting a race. 43 is a joke, drop it to 40, or 38. They will still have a full field, but it will be more competitive.
His momma and his daddy to name a couple. Geez, I'm just trying to support your efforts in proving Chas is a NASCAR poser (my word, not yours I know). I guess I'll turn my efforts to supporting Chas in proving that you are wound up tight. Oops, I think I just did. "JJ", or perhaps more correctly spelled "J.J.", is how Jimmy Jonson is frequently referred to.
Now I'm in a popularity contest between MEN? Egads. Support whomever you like, makes no difference to me. Anyway, point being, if someone says Jimmy, Jimmie, Jimy or Jimmee Johnson, we pretty much know who they MEAN. WHEN nascar adopts fuel injection, I will push all of my chips Roush-Fenway way, as Jack has been using FI on 'big' motors forever, everyone else is behind the curve.
I agree, although isn't the FI system being delivered by McLaren and Bosch (or something like that)? I think that will level the playing field but I'd still put my money on Roush.
You won't just slap a box product on a car and be done with it, things need to be tweaked. Back in the mid-80's, when F1 put fuel limits in, I pushed every chip I had to McLaren-TAG, funny that nobody else did. Everyone else put their money on Ferrari, Renault and BMW powered cars. I knew TAG (Porsche) would clean up, since they had all the experience in the world in making fuel last in endurance racing. One of my few great coups in racing.

Shuffled mine a bit this week; gotta save starts for later in the year. Oops, I'm giving away my secrets...or am I using the Chas strategy of confusion?
