Got the keys to my first garage yesterday. The wife wanted a house attached so that'll be her realm. Now the fun begins: workbenches, shelves, air compressor (can't decide between I-R 20 gallon, Campbell Hausfeld or Kobalt/Husky 25-30g), bench grinder, vice, parts washer, shopvac, girly calendar and eventually some kind of lift. Dad is donating a MIG welder and drill press when he visits this summer. Will likely be disconnecting the forced-air NG heater in the ceiling and installing a wall mounted 25kBTU radiant NG heater. More efficient and less chance of fire. Thought about various floor coverings but for now will leave it bare. Today I start knocking down the unfinished room for more floor space. No more working on cars in parking lots and unheated warehouses WHOOPEEEEE!!!!! Gonna leave the mirrors Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
heh maybe during my bachelor days.... the mirrors actually bounce natural light around pretty well. Still wouldn't mind bigger south-facing windows, but I think this is what the PO was going for. Or, he could have had a thing about getting funky in the garage. So much potential, so little cash Went to the home show yesterday and talked with 4 floor-covering vendors. ~$5/sq ft for epoxy or staining just ain't in the budget for this 750sqft space. Every time I walked on it I'd think about how $4k could buy a hot tub, or sauna, or a lift plus all parts for the 308's next major etc. Can't do everything unfortunately, but will set it up very well with tools and usable workspace. Here's the full space after I knocked down the room on Friday. Bashing **** with a 10lb sledge is quite therapeutic. Today will be washing the floor, hanging new T8 fluorescent fixtures and setting up the new miter saw. cheers! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Helping this customer furnish their garage (he is a member here on FerrariChat) was one of the most rewarding projects we have had the good fortune of working on recently. The carriage doors on this home, which were hand painted by an artist, were remarkeable and I will let the pictures speak for themself. By the way, if you look closely the owner even had the VAULT® logo painted on the racetrack scene as a billboard ad. Nothing puts on a smile on my face like one of our passionate customers. Are these the coolest garage doors you've ever seen ... or what? . The lift is from Superlifts out of Missouri. A Google search should bring them up. *I know he was very happy with the product they supplied
I responded to your question on my mobile device and did not have access to their URL. Here is a link to the Superlifts website: http://www.superlifts.com/ Hope this helps! Chad
Great idea, beautiful artwork. Makes it feel much less like a garage and more of a sanctuary. : ) Chris
I thought maybe there were some low profile ones above the doors or stashed away by the side. I didn't realize people still manually open their doors..lol.
Not wanting to argue, but I know for a fact all those cars I named are all Heffner cars. UGR's shop is a lot larger. AT least now it is.
These garages are really something. How much does it cost to build these garage or mostly just come with the original plan of the house? In my side of the country, even those wealthy Ferrari/Lamborghini owner does not have such garage. There is car porch, however

Many thanks! Superb set of vehicles there in their signature colors no less. Color and stance of the 458 is especially nice with the wheel spacer modification. CH
