Guys, What would be a fair price for a 3 owner 2002 575 F1 grigio/navy 15k, FHP, shields from an official dealer please?
Mark, I drove it last year before I purchased my 03 575 with 10kmiles. It's been for sale (consignment) for a long time! I think $85k max! If I recall the car isn't heavily optioned? FHP, wheels, tubi etc... Leo
Mark, I just looked at the car to refresh myself. Yep that's the one I drove. It's been for sale for a couple of years, if that tells you anything. It does have fhp and some nice options. No wheels or tubi. Car I think needs rear wheels, and some maintance coming up? My car is newer, less miles, more options ex, wheels, tubi, carbon fiber trim, scaglietti racing seats and I paid much less!!! Btw hate the arm rest cup holder....
Mark- For a Ferrari dealer, that is a reasonable asking price, but it will probably go for less. There are advantages to buying from an FNA dealer, such as making sure you have three fobs and a PIN and all the books and tools. They have direct access to FNA's part supplies. They will remove the arm-rest if you hate it, and may be able to replace it with a factory rear glove box. Taz Terry Phillips Image Unavailable, Please Login
Taz, thx for you comments also. Is there anything in particular I should check or look for on the 575 please? I had 355s, 430s, 458, but no V12 as of yet.
Btw hate the arm rest cup holder....[/QUOTE] Love mine !! ... don't think you would hate it if you tried it on a long drive, No cup holder on the one I made because I have a manual gearbox. cheers, Bill Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looking at your profile, you know the drill. You're gonna lose money. The question is how much and the trade off between enjoying and grinding down the price. When I brought my 550 in 2003, the local Ferrari dealer had it on consignment for $160k. Six months later, I brought for $115k. The guy I brought it from paid $205k and put 800 miles on the car. I drove it 20,000 miles and sold it in 2008 for $75k. The guy who brought it from me put another $20k into it and sold it a year later. I don't know what it sold for, but it couldn't have been for much more than $80k. So do your due diligence. If it is a known car, and you like it. I'd offer 80% of the asking price and go from there. YMMV. Dale
Thx for the input Dale. I'm surprised how few 575's are available for sale in the whole of the US, think I will be a fun daily driver for the summer months. They now seem to be a huge amount of car for now not a ton of money.
Tru dat. For this kind of dough, a Maranello is the way to go. The only thing close in my opinion would be a good Challenge Stradale for, say, $115k. Plus, it's gotta be a stick. You're missing out on most of the fun with flippers. However, opinions vary. Dale
You're a poet and you don't even know it! Yes, a Maranello is the way to go. It's the direct descendant of the Daytona... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mark- The 575Ms have been pretty bulletproof. Weakpoints are the leather shrinking and pulling back at the top of the dash (common with 550s), the passenger side visor guts failing and causing visor droop (also common with 550s), and the TPMS sensors going out at 4-6 years (newest ones (Gen 1.5) are much better and cheaper). The Mannesmann-Sachs shocks and actuators in the 575M are really tough, so no problems there, and the coil on plug ignition cuts down on high voltage needing to pass through more wiring for more reliability (550 has two conventional coils, one for each bank, with high voltage passing through the spark plug wires). So far, pretty reliable. Over three years, the only failure on mine has been the TPMS sensors (normal wear item), and the gasket separating from the gas cap. I can live with those. Read though the clutch wear threads and have the clutch wear checked visually using a borescope tool. Cannot do that on the V8s. Taz Terry Phillips
And Taz, do not forget the intake manifold gaskets. They can cause some codes to throw with vacuum leaks, also a know problem, but fairly inexpensive to fix.
I think the arm rest/storage in the center is very practical.. The Algar car's piece IMO just looks completely silly with the cup holder/L shape. The height of the arm rest is a bit high and looks somewhat out of proportion? The other 2 images that are shown in this post look perfect!!
Mark, I think Barry says it the best "It's the direct descendant of the Daytona... " Great Daily Driver...And handles the rough roads in and outside on NYC very well.. Leo
Fou- Affirmative, the intake manifolds on the 456-Superamerica have a tendency to loosen with time and need to be retorqued occasionally. Also cold rough starting can be a problem, with a possible solution mentioned in one of the other threads that I will have my technicians try. Taz Terry Phillips
Is $85k even realistic for a 575? I only ask because I have yet to see a 575 listed anywhere close to that figure. Is the gap between asking and selling prices that large these days? ernie
I will have to Thank You for that, mine is the same hight as the arm rest on the door... I did give it a lot of thought before having it made. And I do love it ! Bill
