makes it the better when we won our class last year in a car that people said it couldnt be done.........but watching some of that driving above leaves me wondering......have money doesnt mean having talent. I'd like to know how many times Kym Illman has crahsed? But anyone that crashes in that event is clearly driving way beyond their capabilities.
I don't agree with that. The second clip was a mistake not based on speed really, but the driver not understanding what was coming up. He was quite reserved until that little error. still laughing that she had to give him driving hints.
it still comes down to speed and reading the road.....trusting someone else is dangerous even if one is ken block, by reading the road ahead does slow the driver down...which has its merits
I agree, I would never trust someone else's directions in a life and death situation and driving at 110/10ths in TT will not get you to the end in one piece, even JR came unstuck and he is a TT god that does a recon before the race
Correct John.......I dont get doing 190kph over a blind crest on the hope that farmer joe hasnt taken the massey furgie across the road and if there were trees there.....say bye bye
I'm not a fan of the open face helmet. Statistics obviously proove they are safe but I'd be worried about having no protection for my chin/teeth in the event of something coming through the windscreen or hitting the steering wheel in a crash.
this was good enough for Fangio and Nuvolari and they died in their sleep Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rally crew wear open face helmets so that the nav can still communicate with the driver if (when) the intercom fails.
still pretty hard to hear each other with out coms as inside the helmet there are rubber cups that cover your ear to assist with hearing when coms are working. i gave the open face helmet away when brock died.
those accidents in the 2011 TT would still have occurred even if the nav was silent or knew where they were going......its the driver who controls the throttle and steering wheel and unless a Petrov happens- cars dont generally hit things by themselves
