The Team Manager told me that his Son is a big P 4/5 C fan. He also asked me where he could get a P 4/5 C jacket. I said: "You can't wear that." "Oh I'll wear it." he said. The BMW's ran like trains.
That's what happens when you spend your time on engineering, and not trying to market stuff like this... http://store.ferrari.com/en/clothing/menswear/trousers-shorts/ferrari-denim-trousers.html
Im guessing you are referring to Charlie Lamm? Its quite sad to hear that the factory isnt giving you some help with the engines, I'll play devil's advocate here and say that I dont blame them considering your competing against Farnbacher with the factory built and blessed 458. That said though with all the years of experience they would have with the 430 GT2 it wouldnt be that hard to offer some technical help or advice? I sincerely hope they dont associate themselves with you in the event of a good result, that would be quite galling of them to do that. You might not have the factory on side but there are PLENTY of people out wishing you well. Best of luck with the class change (which class are you changing to?), hopefully it brings with it the necessary adjustments to make the car more competitive in a straight line.
A lot of great stories begin with Mr. (Fill in the Blank, Mr. Lamborghini for example) was pissed at Ferrari. I'm honored to be a part of one. We're still in E1XP2 but will now try more weight, more fuel and less air restriction as the BMW's have. The BMW's are serious competition and a very well run and strong team but we will do our best. As for The Farnbacher Factory Supported 458 GTC we look forward to running against them. We also look forward to Competing against Ferrari's latest Special Project SP9 at Villa d'Este.
If you decide to start making road cars to fund your racing endeavours, I really like side strakes. All the best, Andrew.
Im reading this sitting in Panera Bread, its quiet as a library, and this literally made me laugh out loud. I think all the other patrons think Im the nut in the corner laughing at his computer now.
My opinion about Ferrari was already bad, but these news are really terrible... I think they are doing a big error... I hope they wouldn't come to substain you after your first victory...if they would please don't allowed them to touch YOUR car!!! You have to win!!! Good luck! MPC
sad indeed i wouldn't be surprised if is in some (petty) retaliation for not allowing copies of P4/5 built/sold by them (thier clients) if Ferrari took head-out-of-ass, they would have ensured a competetive edge for it's factory backed 458, by providing parts and unofficial support to p4/5c, in exchange for all your testing/race data, so they could improve thier own car (same idea as other multiple car team efforts), thus keeping thier car ahead IMO of course ...go get 'em JG!
Jim, other then you, Bizzarrini, and Lamborghini, who else did Enzo anger enough to start a rival company/racing team?
Hi Jim, great job. Remarkable how the more things change the more they stay the same. Keep doing what you do, we get it, even though SpA apparently doesn't. The team gear looks great... what, if any, official merch is available for purchase now? Link?
Thanks Jim! When I was reading you talking about being shafted by Ferrari, I thought it would fit perfectly into my school project on modern supercar development!
Not sure if it has been posted but there is a fantastic article in Top Gear magazine about P4/5 Competizione, really very well written and well worth a read. Pictures are also pretty good....
that Toyota has featured us, just before we passed them, in their official team photo. I am also pleased to report that we will be selling a limited number of team jackets and gear. For details you have to email: "P4/5 MT" <[email protected]> Image Unavailable, Please Login
