Hello All, So as i have been reading, i have noticed that a lot of the GCKs go on to 348, and less on the 355 (sorry i man not have read or heard of all, dont be mad ). I will be doing my major pretty soon and while the car is out i will be doing "some stuff while im in there", and was wondering if it has the same impact for the 355 as it does for the 348 (remember this is what i have found and read, not personal experience). For those of you wanting to know if i have any issues right now, none that i know of. This car used to belong to "vegas-guy". So any experience of what to expect with this kit on a 355? Thanks for the input. Kyle
Hey Kyle, Can't help much with the kit, but glad to here your issue free.. Hope you enjoying it.. Reg

Please pardon the pun but worth it's weight in gold! I did the kit in my well running F355 and cannot believe the improvements noted. I now subscribe to the theory that these cars never ran to design because of the poor quality connectors as delivered!
Here, Here Brother. The difference between shooting a bullet or throwing it. The kit unlocks unknown riches. Can you tell I'm happy too?
+1 The only way to know the difference is to experience the difference. Words do not do the gold connector kit justice.
Did you do the two ECU's in the passenger compartment as well? I am almost done with all engine connectors but was thinking about the ECU's until the next engine out. Kai
No ECU's I'm doing the same thing you are. The ECU's getting done a year from now when I do the major. --Mike
I definitely have a lot more gray hair and a sore back... The absolute hardest plug was the male round injector plug under the plenum. Even our neighbors know new curse words now... I screwed up one plug when I destroyed the connector resistance thingi in the plastic (the 7 pin plug). Just getting the connectors peeled out of the plug always took the longest. I am waiting for my new Kia sensors so I can replace those plugs with gold connectors and then jack up the car and craws underneath. Also decided to replace my broken x-ost with Nouvalari. I talked with Gothspeed but he is really backed up and I didn't have the patience to wait. Put the exhaust on last night. For those that have done it yourself, the driver side connection between exhaust and cat I can't get tight. There is a little bit of slide where I can move it back and forth about a half inch. How do I stop this? Anyhow, the big engine start will happen this weekend. I hope to have the same dramatic improvements (also cleaned the injectors). Glad to hear that things will improve even without the ECU connectors changed. Kai
Yes, they certainly will. How much improvement from doing the ECU connectors seems to depend in large part on how many removal/installation cycles the ECUs have gone through. The ECUs are very easy to do, much easier than the sensors within the engine bay since you can start with the old and new connector beside each other, do two or three wires at a time and migrate them over to the new connector.
Mmh, true. But probably ten times easier when the engine is out... I found so much stabilant gue in my connectors it is amazing that the car ran in the first place. Kai
You could be right, I wouldn't know - did mine by moving the seats forward, removing the ECUs, finding a comfortable position to "sit" on the door sill and had at it...
lol...good work so far, you are almost there. Kai, I removed mine back in September and it went back on no problem, nice and tight. Try loosening the other side, then tightening the driver side first.
See the movement? The clamps are all tight. Kai Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think I know what you mean - is it the area between the red lines? I will have a look at mine tomorrow to see what I find and post here. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah. I have movement there. Because the exhaust bracket holder thingy has a big spring and sits on a swivel, I can move the exhaust in and out a small amount in the area you highlighted. Thanks Kai
No problem - the only way I was able to tell that was the area was because it is worn/scratched up compared to the pic on the left I am almost certain I didn't have any movement when I re-fastened mine. I am going to do a gear oil change and oil change in the next day or two, so while I am under there I will have a look at mine
OMG!!!!!! It started!!!!!!!!!!! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I am spooking happy right now. Haven't done the crank sensors yet but everything else done. Took three starting attempts but now running. Exhaust sounds awesome. Way louder than x-ost. Idling right now. No unusual lights I did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kai
