Suspicious Ghibli add on anamera appears to be the same on ebay. Add on anamera under maserati ghibli www.anamera.com Add on ebay <http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Maserati-Ghibli_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZalgoQ3dLVIQ26ituQ3dUCIQ26otnQ3d4Q26poQ3dLVIQ26psQ3d63Q26clkidQ3d8405739209711655575QQ_trksidZp5197Q2em7QQcategoryZ6313QQitemZ260764574778> Jacques
Unlike others who can comment on the car, the Vin plate with the flat bladed screws is definately off as I am sure these were riveted items. Looking forward to comments from the Ghibli experts.
post 458: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140548&page=23 Chassisnumber is #115.044, e very early car! Ciao! Walter
Walter, I think you meant to say that the chassis number is 088 (not 044). Yes, it is an early car. Ivan
An early car, but in terrible shape and all rusted out. His asking price seems too high to me, since it will take a fortune to restore it. I think his asking price should be about 1/2 of what it. I bet it won't sell.
Sorry guys! I failed to clarify the fact that the same car is listed on anamera by a vendor in Spain and his asking price is 17k euro. I thought that was suspicious considering it is also listed on ebay U.S.A for $46k. I was not referring to the condition of the car. Jacques
The condition of the car is dreadful!! But I think its worth to be restored as its one of the very early cars! But it must be done by a very brave man - who should get the car for 50% of the asking price. Ciao! Walter
I've seen these types of ads numerous times, I call them "re-sale ads". One finds an ad in Italy, re-posts it as his own car in Germany at a higher value. If he manages to sell the car, he buys it from the original owner and sells it to the new buyer. It happens all the time and they are easy to figure out when you ask them to see the car up close and personal, since they won't be able to do that unless they arrange something with the original seller. Other times, they are just fake ads, which ask for a deposit and then they disappear.
Brave may not be the best word double clutch, overheating, DCNL carbs (very difficult to tune, no air bypass) dual thermostats, massive rust ......... it's a bottomless pit
The Anamera ad appears to be fake. I've had it happen many times. Scammers steal photos from my website and the car appears for sale (at a very low price) on ebay or elsewhere. It can happen to anyone, if photos of your car are anywhere on the internet, and there is not much you can do about it. Hopefully buyers are not dumb enough to fall for this scam. Ivan
A good idea is to print a big watermark in the middle of the image, I know this messes with the beauty of the car, but your images won't appear anywhere else. just a thought...
The owner of the Ghibli already did. I do not think it is the owner's responsibility to be shutting down scammers. It takes a lot of time to do this. The times I notified ebay of a scam they gave me the run around and I had to submit proof that I was the legit owner and that the photos had been stolen from my website. Now when it happens I just ignore it. It is the buyer's responsibility to make sure it is a real car and real owner. Ivan
Try listing a car on craigs list OMG the amount of scammers is amazing. The whole internet is awash in crooks. What was once a great tool has turned into a scammers paradise. One thing I have noticed is that most of the scams only have 1-5 pictures of the product.
...HAH! Then why he doesn`t try to sell the Mercedes WWII 3-axle-Staff car his King still owns? ..:) Ciao! Walter
