I don't disagree, in fact, I would venture to say most nascar fans 'know' a driver in nascar by virtue of where they are from.
I have met Bowyer and Edwards because of where they started racing. Most folks can say that about a driver in nascar somewhere. BTST I am one of the few that have had candid conversation with Mark Donohue and Senna - like THAT would ever happen with any driver(s) of that stature ever again.
    IRL? Nope.

It's FAR FAR too late - Indy racing WAS near the pinnacle of sport, it has now been passed by nascar, nfl, mlb, nhl, nba, ufc, pba, nhra, pga, woo, wta, most college sports, and about 2 dozen other sports'. It cannot recover, the BEST it can hope to do is go from a 3 share to a 6 share AT MOST. JMO.

It doesn't matter what thread this is, a lot of folks talk about Mercedes here..

See if Brian is racing, start him.
Talladega is a crapshoot, it don't matter who we take, this race IS the Powerball race - nobody knows.

when I got into racing (late 80's) my two favorite drivers were Rusty Wallace and Dorsey Schroder-guys from my 'hood (STL) who were winning in their respective series. so yeah, I think there's a lot truth to that.

I don't usually watch ARCA, but I caught the last 10 or so lap of the Talladega race; great stuff:

The lead will change in this league almost as much as the leads change at Talladega.

since you've done this league before, do the standings tend to stabilize over the course of the season? or is that the point of the spring/summer/fall divisions?

I'm pretty much 'mailing in' the first 10-12 races, but it does not really stabilize.

There is a nationally syndicated sports radio talk show host that had a league going, I won it two years ago, but I was only about 6th last year.

I can tell you this is nowhere near as fun as Salary Cap Fantasy Football, this nascar league really is a crapshoot every week, literally.

I have no idea why they have separate 'divisions'.

by no means am I a fantasy league expert, but this is the most bizarrely laid out league I've ever seen.

It really is, and I will say it a million more times, nascar racing really is a crapshoot, all you need to be is in the right place at the right time, and if the caution flags come out at the right time, you can come from 35th and win. Look where Biffle started, he changed a motor or something and dropped to the end of the field before the start.

The thing is, you can do a little better with educated luck, but not much.
You can really throw a blanket over the top 25 or so in points.

Congrats BI on your 3rd win, but you're still first loser. :p

Still no win for me; let's just say I'm working the system.

My role model is Kenseth circa '03. ;)

great race at Darlington! I don't understand why this place doesn't sell out 2X a year.

congrats to Reagan Smith, first win for a one-car team. awesome :)

and Harvick and Kyle go at it :p

Helluva finish for sure. Dunno why Harvick is so pissed off, Busch was returning the hook from a turn or two back. The guy sure can't take what he gives out.

Congrats to Regan Smith, he's waited a long time for this. "I can't believe we won, we never even break the top 5"

Harvick is a bully, he can dish it out but he's blameless when anyone hits back

will be interesting to see what NASCAR does about Kyle wrecking Harvick's car on pit road.
