All: Sorry for the tardy post on Fchat. All current members have been receiving correspondence on our year's events but I thought I'd post in case some of you might be interested in seeing what we're doing in the NC Chapter of FCA in 2011...

    Past:

January 12: Dinner at Nantucket Grill, Chapel Hill, NC

February 19: Enzo's Birthday Dinner, Brio's Tuscan Grill, Raleigh

March 15: Dinner at B. Christopher's, Burlington, NC

    Upcoming:

April 16: House Party hosted by John Won, Durham, NC, 75+ attendees!

May 22: Ricambi Rally and F1 Viewing, Winston-Salem, NC. (See Daniel's separate post). You will not believe the rally awards...

**June 8-12: FCA Annual Meet, Savannah, GA. This is the premier FCA event in North America that only comes to our region every decade. Many of your fellow local members are volunteering to pull this off and you won't want to miss it as we host Ferraristi from across the country and beyond. www.fca2011.org

August 5-7: FCA Mountain Trip, Asheville, NC. Host hotel will be Grand Bohemian www.bohemianhotelasheville.com. Fresh venue and cooler locale for our big summer event. This event will include dinners, rallies, and hospitality provided by fellow FCA member and Fchat member raider1968 at his fantastic mountain home.

September 11: Italian GP Viewing, Sport Auto, Summerfield, NC: Join us for breakfast and hopefully a Scuderia victory as Steve Barney provides hospitality.

October 7-9: FCA Beach Trip, Wrightsville Beach, NC. New venue, new and cooler time of year... Host hotel will be the renovated Blockade Runner. This event will also include dinners, rallies, and hospitality at the beach home of one your fellow FCA members.

    November: TBD

December 10: FCA Christmas Party, TBA

*Also stay tuned for other events that will emerge during the year on shorter notice, likely to include a new Ferrari model intro hosted by Foreign Cars Italia, and other events.

As you can see, we have quite a lot going on this year and hope you'll participate. If you're not a member of FCA, joining is easy at www.ferrariclubofamerica.org. We have a very, very active group and are eager to have more of you and your spouses join in the fun
as we enjoy the cars and great times...

If you'd like to contact us, please email me at [email protected].

    Thanks,
    Marc

Sorry, not planning on it for '11.

All of the people who volunteer to pull off the NC calendar of events are also volunteering for the Annual Meet in Savannah in June, a major part of which will be a track event, and after our early efforts to schedule a VIR event were becoming difficult, we opted to hold off until 2012.

Hosting a VIR event is a huge financial risk for a club so it is usually a no-go if we're not comfortable with it.

That said, it is possible that later in the year some dates might open up that we think will work for our group and we put something together...so stay tuned just in case. :)

Either way, we do anticipate returning to a full-blown large scale annual track event in '12

The Savannah track event is currently limited to Ferraris and Maseratis. If anyone can get me a waiver for a Lamborghini, let me know. I'll join the FCA and head on down.

Hope to see some of you at an event soon. Maybe Asheville if Savannah doesn't work out. I missed the Burlington dinner because I completely toasted my brake rotors at VIR that day and had to limp home with metal-to-metal brakes.

Bring the Bull to our Ricambi Rally in May. :) I think there's a fairly good contingent of folks coming from the Triangle area.

JRR- I may just make the Ricambi Rally. I have another NSX event in G'boro at FCI on Saturday, so might just make an entire "auto weekend" of it. Sounds like fun.

.....and I need to get a Gallardo windshield shade from you guys anyway.
