Is this still on? Surprised there isn't a thread on here yet. http://www.fca-mar.com/attachments/event_flyer_20110416.asp
When I spoke to Mrs. Ebert in February she said it is defenitely still on. So congrats Chris, you just got the ball rolling for the thread!
Cool deal, I may drive over to admire the cars. I'd love to drive my 356, but not sure it's exotic enough to park near the fountain.
Looking forward to it. Laura always does a great job organizing that event. Here are the pictures from last year's Reston Spring Thaw: http://www.fca-mar.com/ClubEventPhotoSet.asp?pEvent=20100417
The best FCA event of the year. Too bad you can't pay or register online. Laura, expect my check soon via USPS, (or courier pigeon), whichever is faster.
This'll be my first time going, got it marked on my calendar! It's funny that I live five minutes away from Reston Town Center and go there all the time, but I never knew this event existed until last year. I saw a Testarossa, a 308, and a 348 on the toll road and thought it was kinda ironic, so I looked on the FCA-MAR site and found out that I had missed a cool event. I don't have any interesting cars to bring, so I'll be attending as a spectator. There's no charge for spectators, right? Let's hope it'll be a bit warmer than it's been in the D.C. area the past few weeks!
looking forward to it. For club members the marketing of events are placed in a monthly email blast reminder, monthly mailed bulletin and the mid atlantic club website. It can be easy to overlook another venue but we know someone will speak up eventually. Barbara
This is free to spectators!!!! If I make it over this year, it will be as a spectator as my 360 migrated to Florida. This is a fun event and Laura does a great job putting it together!!!!!! Thanks Laura!!!!!
I have attended the last five years and dont plan to break my streak. Great event for spectators and all! Hope to see all whom I have not seen in a while and catch up! Chris
I drive an Evo Obviously not show casing that, but showing up with my wife as friendly spectators. I'm sure I will run into you there.
Hi Everyone, Sorry, I haven't been on Fchat in forever Spring Thaw is scheduled for this Saturday, official start time is 12:30. The event is at FULL capacity of paid participants but please don't let that stop you from coming as a spectator and hanging out as Detailguy mentioned. I estimate, weather permitting, anywhere from 50-60 Fcars! I've had a lot of inquiries about cancellation or rain dates. THE show will go on even if the weather is iffy. There will be no cancellation or rain date. As for signing up online, I plan on doing that for next year's event as I know this has been brought up before and nothing was done. I'll it will certainly help me keep track of everyone who's signed up and make it easier for folks to sign up. Looking forward to another successful Spring Thaw at Reston Town Center and be sure to stop me and say hi Laura
Folks and Laura, Looks like all the weather data suggests 80% rain and T storms on Saturday....doesn't make a lot of sense to stick to the date for this lovely once a year event.....Sunday will be a wonderful heavenly day.....what do you all think of changing the date....may need a couple of phone calls but it'll pay back. Thanks
Reston has covered parking garages. Worst case we park as a group in the garage and go to the lunch. 70% chance of rain is not 100%. May not rain at all during show.... Bobert
My 328 has been rained on a couple of times since I have owned it. On those occasions, I noticed two things. One, the top did not leak at the front corners (that may make mine unique) and two, the car did not dissolve. I plan to be at Reston Saturday morning. JAF Life is good; it's better if you are driving a Ferrari.
Yeah, but for those of us with '83 and prior, they will rust. Have fun guys. May show up in my DD, but not with the 308. MB
Rain / Thunder / Wind High 61°F Precip 90% Wind: From ESE at 25 mph Humidity: 77% UV Index: 3 Moderate I KNOW from having worked at NC Speedway that rescheduling is more painful than most can imagine, but tomorrow looks really bad weather-wise. Rain/Thunder - winds to 25mph...it is just going to be a sh!tty weather day...with a HIGH of 61
