Yes the Profil kit does have problems but it can be made into a very nice model.

You have some nice projects. If you want you can start posting your builds on the WIP thread. No one has posted on it in a few months so that would be a good way to get
    it back on track.

    Dear modelers!!

I'm sorry if this is not the right section to ask this question, but I just started a 1/20 F189 kit from Tamiya, and I have some problems reading the color codes.

    But what does this mean:

    X - 18:3
    + X - 10:1
    + X - 12:1

I know that the X18 is the color, but what does that other number behind the ":" mean?

Again, I'm sorry if this is the wrong section to ask this question!

    Thanks for your help.

You have to mix 3/5 of X-18 (semi gloss black) + 1/5 of X-10 (gun metal) + 1/5 of X-12 (gold)...

    Thanks for your response.

But what measurements am I keeping in mind? 3/5, does this mean for example

you've got 100ml of paint, and I take 60ml of the jar to mix?

Lol sorry my Maths is pretty bad

In total you have 5 'parts', 3 of which are X18, 1 part X10 and 1 part X12

If you were mixing up a total of 100ml of paint then the ratio would be:

    X18 - 60ml
    X10 - 20ml
    X12 - 20ml

If you were mixing up a total of 60ml of paint then the ratio would be:

    X18 - 36ml
    X10 - 12ml
    X12 - 12ml

    Hope that helps.

So if I read this by itself, I don't need to mix any paint, and paint them seperately.

I'm sorry to be a pain guys!!!

APM are doing a 599XX in a 1/24th scale kit. They have already done the car in 1/12th and 1/18th scale kits.

Can you please keep me posted on this?

I have a spare 641 kit, which I kept for exactly this reason. Would love to build a 643.

    Dear all
Found this scale 24 Pegso Z102 roadster by accident at ebay and received it yesterday. Artisan kit (or build) by a spanish company named escuderia24. As far as I found out up to now, escuderia24 is a collaboration of Luis Amarillas (body) and Pablo Arias (photoetched and decals).

I am absolutely enthusiastic on this kit. Clean cast, beatiful and exact / symmetric body. Very good looking decals and photopetched parts.

Only weak point are the missing color references in the instruction sheet.

    www.escuderia24.com/wordpress/?page_id=16

I am in no way associated with this company. My only interrest is to show you a great model and give them a small limelight, hoping they will do more 1/24 Pegaso in this quality.
    .

    Kind regards
    Wolfgang

Think I saw him making this Pegaso on Automotive forums. He is amazing. Also remember seeing his 450 Costin with full engine detail on a Maserati forum. The guy is very talented. I have to have one of his Pegaso's. It looks fantastic. Thank you very much for posting the information. By the way, what is the retail on the kit?

I paid 185$ + p&p at ebay, buying directly from Pablo Arias, so directly from escuderia24.
On their web-site the build model is given as 400 Euro but I can´t find a price for their kit.
    Kind regards
    Wolfgang

Thanks to both of you. That really is a nice looking model and car. I got an email from him
after I posted on automotiveforums in his thread. I hope he does the Pan Am version also
but I will buy a few of this version.

Escuderia24 said they will do the Carrera Panamericana Z102 at some point!!
Also the rumors are true that someone is doing a Lancia B20, Lancia D24 and Carrera Abarth
    all in 1/24th scale(not me).

Scale Designs is doing SD39 decals for the Alfa 1900 1954 Pan Americana cars along with Mille Miglia winner decals from 1930 and 1947(All for Quattroruote 1/24th diecasts).
Scale Designs will also do sheet SD40 for the Carrera Panamericana Eva Peron and #199 356's along with the entire SD38 356 sheet over again in 1/43rd scale.

Nice selection - the Alfa 179 is especially appealing.

    Tom,
I bought the kit directly from Pablo ([email protected]). the kit is really great, very nice casting, PE parts and small details that other manufacturers are not proposing. An asset for 1/24 scale kits !
Price was 130 euro + 10 euro shipping (inside europe)

I would love to see a Z103, Thrill or another Z102 with PAN AM markings. I have followed the history for years mainly because of the Ricart Alfa Romeo connection. What an amazing engineer. The 1940 Alfa 512 had to be his biggest statement. He also put Enzo Ferrari in his place several times before getting him to leave Alfa Corse.

I also would love to see more of the Pegasos, especially at this quality that Luis and Pablo offer with their fantastic kit.
So let us all buy one of these and hope this will motivate them to do more ;-)
