Tuck, which white one? There are at least 4-5 white G Spyders in the market right now.
Or are you referring to the white '08 F430 coupe with red interior?

I like the nimbleness of the F430 coupe I tried and the F1 box is quite easy to use...no drama at all unlike the e-gear. But I also like the G Superleggera's alcantara interior and overall more agressive "punch" when pushing it.

    Too fickle minded I guess.....

You may want to check whether the black 430 is its original colour; i believe i am intimately acquainted with the white 430 :)

Sorry but are you referring to the black/red F430 spider or the black F430 coupe "used import" on sgcarmart?

Intimately acquainted = one of its past/present owner? ;)

Hmm, sounds like a Scuderia would be a good match for the above criteria....

Get the F430 instead of the G. For me it's the better car. The G will also be replaced next year and prices will tank again.

My bad. I meant to say the opposite about the OMVs. Ferrari = lower OMV but higher price.

Guys, how's the value of 430, now that 458 is delivering?

Incidentally, I saw a red 458 in Bangsar last night, probably the only one here so far but was with a friend so can't do over to peep.

Guys, if anyone is interested. My friend is selling her Daimler 2.5, which looks like the Jaguar Mk2 of the 1960s. Believe it's a V8 engine & should be a manual gearbox. On regular plate which comes with it, SM something. Ivory body with dark red cabin (all recent work) & spoked wheels. Just S$130K+

Gs feel rough compared to Fs. clunky but stiffer. 4wd also makes it clumsy. its more stable at high speeds for that.

Gs r robust tho. I tracked my SL more than 25x....and i never replaced a clutch. when i sold it. it measured 30% wear rate. only regular oil change at 780 bucks each time. 2 sets of front brakes at 1.5k each.

no electrical faults only funny lights. i dare say from my civic to jetta to 530 to gti....the lambos hv zero problems. maybe im lucky.

for city driving n badge n soul n resale....go with the F. for everything else, the lambo....n only buy from agent. u can ask for goodies....like a 1 yr wty.....etc.

The G also means u can potentiall be stuck with lambo for a loooooonnnnnnggggg time. bit like hotel calfornia?

    Thanks for sharing.

Looks like my test drives have been pretty much consistent with what you mentioned. Good to hear that the G SL is pretty much reliable, at least in your case and from what I've heard.

But the way you put it "for city driving, badge, soul and resale"...hmmm, not much left for the lambo then. And capped with "looooooong time", quite worrisome! Ha ha... ;)

I am in contact with the agent but they don't have much for me so far, apart from an orange '08 G SL but mileage a little too high for me.

    The shopping continues...

    Shopping is fun!

I think the G is pretty fun in city driving, I did lose the tail a few times when I get a bit heavy footed on corners while the front lifter is great for multi-level carparks, slap on a nice exhaust & it's plenty fun while almost every owner will "miss" the old style clunky gearchanges (06-08) as for re-sale, if you get it @ a decent price, you're pretty safe. I like the boxy sharp lines. The only issue is that spyders don't have the glass back if you like to show off your engine :D

Bro, my dad used to own 2 of those at the same time. I didn't like that car at all since I was a kid, always preferred the XJ looks. So you can guess what I thought of the S-type when it came out. Engine is very smooth as a V8 but no power compared to the 3.8Mk2 which is the car to have. Was the XJR of its time. Ours was the 3 speed auto box though.

Any reason why Gs are harder to sell than 430s? Heard this from a dealer as well. I do think Gs are good cars with German level of reliablity + Italian attention grabbing.

I enjoy shopping but not for too long, otherwise get bored. More importantly, better half okayed the change so better strike while iron is hot! Ha ha....

I tested a couple of G Spyders and SL and it felt alright overall other than the "heavy chunky" feel (was more pronounced on the Spyders). When on the move, all was ok. The F430 on the other hand felt "easier" to drive from the get go. Less drama but not sure if I'd get bored. The again, the more aggressive "punch" of the Gs may also get tiresome if one drives it everyday, especially in the city.

I prefer the looks of the G Spyder and SL over the regular F430 coupe/Spider.

Obviously, I don't know what I want! Ha ha....

I'm more concerned with finding a nice clean example but am having trouble finding out the history of those I've "shortlisted".

I'm wondering if any of those tuners out there can program the split in 4WD to eg: 30:70 or remove the front drive shaft for perm RWD or just get a Balboni :D

Ask toto to sell u @ discount lah ;)

Where's Vex? Probably having too much love with what the 430 spider brought along :)
U can ask his opinions since he just bought one.

History: Just get the chassis no/reg no then run a check with the workshop managers or PPI it.
