Russell Cole car collection up for auction on Wed in Milwaukee

I realize this is probably old news, does anyone here plan on going up and bidding on the treasury auction?

I saw many of these cars at various events over the last couple of years, what a pitty.

 

Has anyone ever been to one of these? How close to market value do these cars end up selling for?

i will be there.. i have manheim access but since this is a US Treasury auction, anyone can attend.

i will be on the bidders list but as it will be open to the public, i don't expect any deals..

The starting bid on the Enzo is $1m.. I don't think there will be any deals to be had on the cars either.

Who knew the government had a sense of humor? From their FAQ:

 

Where will the proceeds be going to? Back to Best Buy? Or the US Gov?

 

Most likely one of the forfeiture funds (government). They're assets from a criminal case, I don't think Best Buy ever pursued them in civil court.

 

So is there any report on the sale of these cars?

 

Just talked to my buyer, he said the Enzo did 1.28 and the GT2 with 60 miles on it did 130k

the rest were Manheim Milwaukee's 100 Grander cars, which is something new for milwaukee. West Palm Manheim has it.

 

What happened to the F50? F40?

 

What did the F430 and Ford GT go for?

 

The Ford GT went for about 155k, everyone and their brother knew about these cars, so no surprise that they brought retail/over retail. I had people coming out of the woodwork calling me on these cars before they hit the block, thinking they could steal them.
