Enjoying a fine breakfast this morning, no crow on the menu though. Your boy sure ran the tires off his car ! Sort of ruins his brilliant "strategy" of driving around and finishing "second or third" and keeping up with the drink company car. Those Pirelli tires will likely be his undoing this year. Poor o'l Hammy get's in a scrap with Alonso, (his Prost) and comes out worse when it's all said and done. Demoted to 8th, Nice job Lew ! http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/10042011/58/hamilton-demoted-eighth-penalty.html .
Please watch the spoilers. I wasn't able to see the race until the Sunday rebroadcast on SPEED. I'm glad I didn't see this earlier.
David; Just stay away from Fchat entirely until you've seen the race. Let alone venturing into the F1 section. What are ya; nuts ?
That's exactly what I did. It would be nice if one could trust our fellow F-Chatters not to F up when it comes to spoilers though. Thank you for the kind inquiry as to my psychic well being.
Maybe the Hamilton bashers will take a break now? "When the flag drops, the bull**** stops" once said the famous Jack Brabham. Lewis answered his critics this afternoon.
For the 1000000th time, only a fool would bash Hamilton as a driver. However, his attitude is terrible and his cockiness unparalleled. That's why I don't like him. Things are all rosy now but he threw a tantrum (enough of one that even Planet F1 went on and on about it) a week ago after Button showed him up.
Let us know when he accuses his own team of sabotage, or when he tries to blackmail his own team. Until then, he has *nothing* on Alonso in terms of bad attitude, yet you like Alonso just fine. It's not about Hamilton's attitude or cockiness at all... it's because he's so good and he knows it, and he doesn't drive for Ferrari. Same reasons (except the last) that it drives Alonso nuts. People hate a winner.
I like Vettel so there goes that theory. Yes, LH is the cockiest driver on the grid, no one else is even close. When the going gets tough, he is also known to crumble and complain. Like I said, when it's all rosy he's all smiles but he was acting like a little brat merely a week ago. You don't hear Alonso or MS acting like children with the media and their cars are turds. FWIW, I hated Alonso until 2008 (especially when he was MS's rival) because of his piss poor attitude and cockiness but he has turned that around a LOT in the past few years, no one can deny that. He put in some amazing and gritty drives in that ****ty Renault in 2008, kept his head down and worked through the POS in 2009, then had an amazing run last year in a car far inferior to Vettel's. Plus, like you said, driving in red overalls doesn't hurt any.
Who said anything about bragging? Everyone is all drunk on LH after this race today but let's wait and see what else is in store for the rest of the year especially if Button outperforms him in some races as he has already done this year. Will we see more LH media tantrums? Very likely. THIS IS NOT TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM HIS DRIVE TODAY IT WAS FANTASTIC.
As much as I dislike it the trash talking athlete is part of modern sports. I can't single Lewis out for criticism.
This isn't the NBA or NASCAR, it's F1. I don't recall much trash talking from MS or Hakkinen during their titanic battles. What about Raikkonen? Do you hear much out of Vettel? Meh.
Again I agree its a shame but its by no means universal in F1 nor in other sports but it is a fact of life in pro sports these days.
Well, ol Lew gives us this beauty of a "quote" "If you look at our performance over the years I think you can say I'm the only who has won a grand prix every year, so I've had a winning car every season. No other team can say that for the last five years. That's quite a positive thing." http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/90725 The problem with this comment is that Ferrari has won every year since who knows when ? And in that time, Macca has had seasons where they were BLANKED ! 5 years Lew, that ain't nothin kid.
