Great combo on a great car. If you haven't already you can open the valves to make it louder all the time. You will love the F1 more and more. Trust me.
Very pretty. Love the color combo. Those pics further my idea that I do not have a favorite color combo. I just need more Ferrari's.
I had mine done at the dealer during service. I don't even recall them charging me. It takes all of 10 min or less. They cut a line and cap off the valves. There was a recent thread in the 360/430 section; not on how to but just discussing it.
Love the seats. To do list: Capristo headers, high flow cats and twin sound muffler. Led angel eyes Lowering . . .
where o you get the angel eyes??? needs to be lowered!!!! again where springs! I would like to look into exhaust!
What color is that exterior and interior? Also, please do unplug the vacuum lines on the exhaust valves right away and see if you like that...It will be MUCH louder...
Matt, the F430 comes a little too high for U.S. specs cars. Even the lowered Euro F430 measures 129mm front 151mm rear from the ride height measurement points. The Scuderia sits at 114mm+/- 5mm front and 136mm+/- 5mm rear. You can safely lower it to Scuderia specs, using the spring perches. It is easy to adjust as as GT3. It is better to put the car on jack stands or a lift with all wheels off, and disconnect the sway bars, otherwise the tension will require too much effort from the spanner and you could damage the tread on the shocks. If you measure distance from the fender to the floor at each corner, and let me know which tires your car has and the tread depth on them, I will give you the number of turns to be applied to each corner on the spring perches.
Post #30 are my install pics. I'm assuming a 430 & Scud are the same? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=245241&highlight=vacuum&page=2 Btw, beautiful car!
I do mine on and off all the time, theres nothing to cut and the whole thing takes me less than a minute. Look down to both sides of the exhaust and you'll see the rubber hose that goes into the round circular valves, just pull it out and put a rubber plug on the metal little the, then plug the hose and you're done. Just put the hoses to rest by the bumper grill with two rubber tie wraps.
Great car in great condition! If you lower the car, take the chance to put red Scuderia springs on it. The steel Scud springs are very cheap and your car will have a much much better handling (see thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=307048&highlight=spring+rate+calculation). Make sure you have a good geometric alignment. I'm very happy I did this mod. For the valves, I recommend the Capristo remote control unit which is easy to install (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=310472&highlight=DIY+remote+control). It's a better solution than permanent forced open valves because the F430 likes to be cold started the valves closed so that the cats can heat up faster. Enjoy all of it Stef
Didn't know Capristo offered this, good info, but can this be installed with the factory equipment? I always unplugged them but after like 10 minutes after a cold start. When one starts the car cold the noise level goes up high and I think the whole system vibrates strongly and this might 'cause the brackets to break as they try to hold everything tightly. I suspect this influenced on one of my brackets fails. I have the new ones now and never cold start with valves unplugged and it's been 10k miles trouble free.
Grigio titanium exterior Thank you everyone!!! I pulled hoses off! Will look at this remote system also .. Back to driving just stopped for gas and checked page wow! You all are awesome!
Thanks...looks great...almost looks "blue"ish in the pics... Is that a blue interior with silver inserts? Well...what do you think of the sound with the hoses off?
All this chatter lately about lowering is great, now I am going to do mine. To the OP, gorgeous car, use it in good health. Great Color.
