Was that brief (I mean extreeemely brief) frustration gesture whining in the media? No. It also had nothing to do with his car...probably a lot of emotion after losing the title at the last race by the narrowest of margains. AKA very different than being all pissy after the 2nd race of the year. Then again you don't even think SV is a good driver so...yeah...about your opinions...
So my opinions don't count because I don't think SV is good driver? I think you'll find quite a lot of people with a similar opinion to mine when it comes to Vettel.
oh come on! how can anyone seriously believe that any one of those guys on the grid isn't a good driver (and good's an understatement!).
yes of course compared to the average person they are all exceptional, even Karthikeyan would run rings around the likes of me but I'm comparing the best of the elite drivers here and when it comes down to it Vettel is not in the same class as some of the others - like I said he's super fast in a fast car with clear air, even his one win in a Torro Rosso was because the others stuffed up Q1 ( it started raining late in the session when Vettel already posted a time in the dry ) leaving him in pole position and clear air to help him get the win ( plus the wet race removed any speed advantage the others had ) .
I don't care much about his attitude; it's what he delivers on the track that interest me. Not only he is super talented, but he is just very combative and that's just what F1 needs. The rest we have to accept, warts and all (rethoric, dodgy track tactics, etc...)
Absolutely. A ridiculous statement saying that SV isn't a "good driver"? Then what is he? I'm still confused by the dichotomy here....we want a driver who isn't politically correct and doesn't always "tow the company line" but then we want a driver who minds his manners and doesn't show any arrogance. Aren't the 2 mutually exclusive? Maybe Scuderia P1 would love to micromanage every syllable out of Hamilton's mouth. Or. Maybe he just wishes that such a talented driver wasn't on the grid (unless he is driving for SF). I'm a Ferrari fan as much as anyone - why else would I be here - but Lewis is tremendously talented and will be fighting for a WDC for as long as he is in a competitive car. Period. I don't get butt hurt if he has an attitude about it. Who cares?
Dam* right. I was wise/fortunate enough to avoid it. The spoilers alerts are there for reason. If you can't respect the rules of the forum don't visit it.
You said you were "wise/fortunate" A wise man would never log on to an F! message board before watching a race. I respect people with common sense regarding this, period. My post didn't give away who won the race, or who finished on the podium for that matter, merely that Lew-Ham finished 8th. I don't know anyone who would say that knowing which driver finished 8th would "spoil" their viewing of any race.
Oh he talks all right ! That's what this thread is all about. His latest "quote" "If you look at our performance over the years I think you can say I'm the only who has won a grand prix every year, so I've had a winning car every season. No other team can say that for the last five years. That's quite a positive thing." http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/90725 Positive BS, comparing race wins over the last 5 seasons Ferrari soundly TROUNCES Macca, what the hell is this guy thinking ? tell me please... .
It's not hard to figure out. Hamilton is a contender to win the race... hearing he finished 8th absolutely diminishes the enjoyment of watching, knowing the guy who will get a large portion of the TV attention won't be a contender for the podium. But on an even more basic level, it's against the rules of the website. If you want to participate in this website, you need to adhere to the rules, not follow your own set of rules with the attitude of "I'll do as I please, the rest of the forum be damned". So watch the spoilers in the future.
His quote is correct, he was talking about the drivers, Alonso did not win in 2009 and has yet to win in 2011, Vettel did not win in 2007, Button did not win in 2007 or 2008 and has not yet won in 2011, Webber did not win in 2007, 2008 and has not yet won in 2011, Massa did not win in 2009, 2010 and has not won in 2011. As for you other quote, Ferrari has won 23 races in the period he is speaking about (2007-2011) versus 21 wins for McLaren, I would consider that fairly close competition, not trouncing them.
You still don't get that its about respect. Respect for the rules and respect for your fellows. You insist on arguing instead of just saying "i'm sorry if I offended". The more you try to justify your action the worse you look.
+1 I guess I too am a "wise man" as I wouldn't risk it either - But that's a pretty damning indictment of my faith in my fellow users...... Ferraripilot (IIRC) had DVR issues and ventured in here to ask where he could find a replay after Bahrain (?) - A ballsy move exhibiting more faith in others than I've got, but he got away with it (and got to watch an unspoilt race). It's very, very, simple - Don't do it! #1, them's the rules but as Viz noted, more out of respect for others who may not be as wise as you. Cheers, Ian
P1....please read this over and over and over again until it sinks in. It doesn't matter whether YOU agree with the rule. If you post something without indicating that it is a spoiler, you are in violation.
Correct ? how so. The quote was recorded BEFORE China, 4-14, so saying he had won races the last 5 years was in fact incorrect, just nobody around here sharp enough to notice.
Priceless irony. He didn't say he won a race every year for the last 5 years. What he said was: He has won a GP every year he has been with his team (true). If you look at the last 5 years, no other team can say that (true). Perhaps it's not everyone else who "isn't sharp enough"?
For you, the Hambone fanboi, but most people I know would enjoy hearing that he sucked, and would heighten the viewing experience. So when you and your Fanboi buddy post your childish "crow" picture, doesn't that tell everyone that your hero did well ? That would also be a spoiler. It was your jumping the gun before the singapore race that was what brought the response to begin with, pot? kettle? This thread isn't about what your hero does on the track, it's about his idiotic comments to the press. For some reason you think I go over the edge when your hero has a good day at the track, quite the contrary, I could care less, please keep your 'crow" comments in the race thread and we'll be OK. FWIW, who are you to tell me what to do ? Maybe posting 15 billion times a day makes you think your important, hate to break it to ya.
The factual error is him using the "Team" reference, Ferrari (Team) has won races year after year on a much more consistent basis than Macca, so his comments are rubbished.
It's the site owners and moderators telling you what to do. Don't let it happen again. As for the LH quote, it's pretty obvious what he is saying. "no other team can say <that>". <that> being (a driver) saying "I have won a GP every year". He's correct. You've taken a lot of heat on this forum - and you can't write it off as people who just don't agree with you. It seems you have zero support on here - not from Ferrari fans and not from anyone else. The saying "sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and.... " comes to mind
