This is not to start a debate on how evil or angelic Ferrari Classiche is - I just thought that Ferrari vintage enthousiasts should be made aware there's an article in the new issue of the UK magazine Octane, which dropped through the letterbox half an hour ago, about Ferrari Classiche.

It's an interesting read for me, having had a bit of an insider look in the past 12 months. The article does go (a bit) into the fact that there is unhappiness about FC out there, which I give them credit for. There is also a little inset which has a mini interview with Jacques Swaters, who is a bit critical about FC. This is quite interesting in the context of #0384, which I saw at FC last year. Obviously the car isn't mentioned.

Anyway, enough cans of worms - if you're interested it's probably worth picking up at the news stand.

    Thanks for the heads up.
Now I'll know for sure how much longer we in the States have to wait for ours.

I'm a charter subscriber. It has become one of my favorite magazines. Looks like about three weeks before this issue arrives in the US.

    Thanks for mentioning it, Onno.

Barnes and Noble carry it, I have no problem buying one at the store. We may get it a week or so after it's on sale in the UK.

You can get it electronically now, through Zinio, and it goes live around the same time it comes out in the UK. There's an iPad app for Zinio, or you can use a computer.

Been stopping by Borders the past few weeks to try and get a copy of #96, but they STILL don't have it on the newsstand. Funny that the June edition is already out, but they haven't even seen the May one, yet. As I'm going out of the Country for three weeks, I've asked if they can hold me a copy, which I would gladly pay for now. They said they cannot. So, I have a problem, it appears.

So, since this is no longer a current edition, would anyone be able to scan the Classiche article and post it?

    Many thanks,

    CW

For those wanting the electronic version, Zinio will have it.
Be warned though these digital magazines are not that easy to read, EVO does a great job as it is a full multimedia experience, but the rest are eye strainging and of course not as tactile :)

BTW, I did check Zinio, but it looks as if you can only purchase a subscription, as opposed to just the issue. I'd rather have it in hardcopy, anyway, though. Just wanted to read the one article.

The issue just landed at my independent newsstand, which for some reason gets magazines four or five days before Barnes and Noble. I love Octane, but the guy who writes the wristwatch column sometimes makes mistakes.

The author has produced a DVD about Ferrari Classiche called Archive of Lost Dreams. Has anyone seen it or know anything about it? If it isn't any more revealing than the article in Octane I probably won't purchase it.

With all the cashflow on this paticular forum you should all subscribe to octane LOL.
Seriously its quite simply the best collector car mag out there! I have subscribed for three years now and have never missed an issue unlike some of the stores that carry it...when you subscribe it comes weeks before the newsstand
    I dont work them either!

    Doc,

Do you have any idea of how many subscriptions I maintain? Or how much I spend on F-related literature? Frankly, it's just impossible to keep up with ALL the publications. And, while it might be legitimate to argue that I *should* or shouldn't include Octane, at the moment, I only want the ONE article. I just returned from three weeks in Europe, so I'll be sure to stop by and see if they have my copy waiting for me.

    Thanks all,

    CW

    Follow up...

So, I went to Barnes & Noble yesterday. They were sold out of the issue and didn't bother to hold one for me. Typical! They found one, however, at another store and will transfer it over. So, I'll pick it up today. Problem solved. Totally crappy execution on their part, though.

    Probably still a copyright problem.

I think it would be legally protected for the life of the author plus 70 years.
