Ok, for those of you who don't know, I just bought a new house in NoVA and it has a two car garage...perhaps not saying a lot to many of you, but I am coming from a townhouse with a 0 car garage, so moving back to a two car is significant (note: the house we just moved from was the only house I have ever owned without a garage, and it was a bloody painful 8 years boys).

Again, the garage is two-car with single doors. Fairly large with an alcove forward right that will help in creating a workspace.
Now that we are moving in (today the movers brought us in) you can bet your sweet ass I am already having work done on the garage, that was a total mess.

Sorry for the poor quality pics:

The first is of the garage as we completely strip it of all the old cabinetry, and hangers, and lights, and everything in order to paint it. Basically the thing was a freaking disaster, and if it ever did have cars in it, they were crying for mercy. Once we get it in decent shape I will bring the 308QV home to it's rightful place.....at MY house.

The second photo is after the ceiling has been sprayed white, and the walls have two coats of the two-color scheme I am using. The walls were fixed, mudded, and sanded and then two coats of paint applied. It doesn't show well because I have to take photos with a camera phone, but it looks really good. This picture is the alcove forward right of the garage where the painter is pulling things off of the wall in the first photo. Likely my workbench and some cabinets going in this area. Maybe a sink too, but it is 6'x7' so not huge.

Pic three is another of the wall. I needed to keep the paint break fairly low as framed artwork will adorn the upper levels along with a few signs. For now the plan is to put the Ferrari in one bay and the DD E36M3 in the other until a new car comes along....:p:p:p

I will provide improvements as they come. The next painting step will be a rosso corsa stripe around the garage to split the two colors. Again, blow by blow as it happens and I turn my garage into one I think you would all be proud to say was MBFerrari's space!

(note: the cable hanging down is now wired for the flat screen that will be mounted next to the door).

Tomorrow I go and buy the new flourescent and track lighting that will be installed on Monday. Slowly they turned...step by step. :):)

I love the project threads! Good luck with the house and more importantly, the garage.

BTW, the pics aren't of bad quality. More than sufficient for a room without proper lighting as of yet.

Looking forward to seeing your results! I'm also working on a reality garage, so I'm anxious to see yours. My biggest concern is lighting.

They look great....track lighting on both sides of the garage and fluorescent in the center and in the work area.

Will also have track lighting under the cabinets once they are installed in the work area.

First pic is of left side of left bay of garage.
Second is right side of right bay...
Third is looking toward right side of garage with overhead fluorescent center of two bays...
Fourth is the alcove or work area. That is just getting started.

More to follow in a moment.

Also had one new outlet put in left front of garage, one changed from 2 to 4-plug, and two new switches put in (one for work area light and one additional for the track lighting...

Painter coming back when it warms up to paint rosso corsa stripe. Too cold now.

Flooring and cabinet estimates done today. Looks like I will be starting with the floor first LOL! :p:p:p

The one in the center of the garage is a four bulb 4'. The one in the alcove is a two bulb 4', as I will have additional lighting under the cabinets and over my workbench.

After the current phase in finished (painting and electrical), the next phase will be initial decorations, and then on to the floor and cabinets.

The floor is going to be polyaspartic, and the benches and cabinets I am still considering many options...

Final phase will be Flat Screen TV and ceiling installed heater, etc.

So much to do; but man is it fun!!!

    Thanks ACE,

Copy all Dreamer. It is going to be polyaspartic which is similar to epoxy but much stronger and durable.

Can't wait to get that done!!

I like them. I don't love them, only because the vertical strakes look strange with the siding going horizontally...we will likely put stone facia on the house eventually, so it will look better then.

I guess as I see them again, they aren't bad. I will go back and confirm, but insulation R-value is 6.8 - works for DC area.

Next will be the floor. Still looking at designs for the polyaspartic now.
