I am restoring a series II cab #1891 which was painted Oro “gold” as the original factory color. I am looking for any photos that show this seemingly rare original copper color. Here is an image of #2159 which I think is Oro but I am not sure. If anyone has any color photos of this color it would be appreciated.

    Thanks...

That appears to be Nocciola metallizzato 106-M-27(more Copper in shade) NOT Oro Chiaro Metallizzato 106-Y-19(more Gold in shade) Regards, Mike Regalia

Is the Oro color you are looking to match the same one as on a 275 GTS that was in the Bay Area years ago? It was owned by a family friend that bought it used from Griswold (prior owner went bust with an outstanding bill to Griswold) about 1970. Art some years later traded it for a new Pantera with the Hayward Lincoln-Mercury dealer.

Strickly from memory the color of the Oro gold was not saturated as the Porsche gold metallic of 1970/71. Oro was brighter and more yellow.

Right...Wayne is showing examples of two different colors.....yours looks more like the copper tinted one, than the gold.

A Ferrari Dealer like FoH (Houston) can help you confirm that code, they also do computerized matching, if you have an unfaded part to scan.

Agree, not oro chiaro by any stretch, although it could be too red even to be nocciola....perhaps not the original paint to begin with?

I don't think it's Nocciola Met. and I don't think it's what we now see as Oro Chiaro (on the TdF above). Whatever you want to call it, it sure looks like the same or similar 24 karat color appears on the SII Cab, the SWB, and the GTE.

We are sure the car was not repainted from what we can tell when it was stripped. I do think it is the same color as the GTE, not the GTC

See My Garage for oro chiaro.

Wayne's pictures of the TdF show how much different colors can look indoors and out.

Looks great. Can't wait to see the end result. Will you accent the ridges of the vents? I have seen vents with shiny silver valleys and a thin ridge line accent in a darker silver colour. From the photo it looks like that is what you intend to do. It looks brilliant and I think original. That is a great Photoshop job. Keep that Zac working!!!
    Cheers John
