Date the ads when they first appear. Have them expire in a set timeframe. Too many old ads cluttering the new ones.

I think we'll need to get an entire new ad system. this one had potential, but they stopped supporting and improving it right after I bought it 2 years ago. :(

I find it quite annoying when the price is listed at $0.00/£0.00 and then the price sorting doesn't work. Plainly, when you read the adverts, there is an asking price that is usually listed in the text.

It makes my dreaming so much more difficult... :p :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Kudos on the jump to dropdown box at the bottom of the thread pages. I use it all the time.

I was extremely polite when I declined. All the nasty stuff has come from you, not me.

Art, sure, you have never been nasty. face it, you live and love conflict, you like to stir the pot and bait. I do take the bait sometimes.

the reason you don't want back in P&R is you know you can't handle it.

Is there any way to just see the recent pictures added to Fchat? I would love to see all the car gathering pics without having to scroll through every subforum with a paperclip icon.

Like a button that just brings up the last posts with pics in them.

I would like to see a section with large letters - on it's own header just below the search header that reads " pictorial restoration" and a drop column with up to date restos owners are doing. Have this area owner specific and have them qualify to post vehicles being restored.Too much crap i have no need for in the other threads and have only interest in *****en in progress restorations and all the final details.

    Dave

    Just a thought!

if that isn't true, then why don't you want back in? maybe because you just post P&R in the B&I?

    See what I mean?

Whether your above quoted statement about R & R is or isn't true isn't the issue here. It's the commentary that you engage in, and that is what I was saying. The point is that you are constantly digging at me, with little or no provocation. That was my point.

The reason that I declined to get back into P & R is that it's an incredible time waster for me, and I'd rather not waste the time.

chicken or egg, stop baiting and instigating and see how quick I stop digging back. I never start it, always responding.

that's your call, not ours. many users have P&R self-blocked.

get a vastly improved search engine. The current one really s*cks

in fact searching the internet with google will generate the right thread sooner than engine used by the forum.

true. there is a skill to good search results with vB, but it shouldn't be that hard. everyone should be able to do it and first time, I know the delay until next search is frustrating

    Hi Rob,

I just had two database errors about 25 minutes ago (00:50 UK time / 18:50 US Central Timezone). Things are working normally now.

Actually, the problem is not just a delay. There are certain threads I know exist but cannot find with the vB search engine.

For example, if I try to search for my own Mitt Romney thread in P&R I find it impossible to find it with the search feature. Here's the thread:

And here are the search failures to find it:

So just to check that I was doing it properly, I tried any hits of me saying "Romney" and...

Is there an anti-Romney FChat conspiracy?! :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    Edit:
Actually, the only thread I can get a "Romney" hit on NeuroBeaker posts is this one.

    Complimentary Ferrari upon membership? :D

I do however like the idea of something that will allow users to view all photos under the one function, allowing us to skip to the barn finds and garage pics etc. :)

Thanks for the suggestion Steve. :)

Just gave that a go, but it didn't change the results.

    All the best,

How about a cliff notes. Some threads contain valuable information and interesting stories but it's a pain to have to read through hundreds of pages to find it.
