They look good. Check the old pix on page 6 & 7. The passenger side is cut to fit a door panel.

The body that Stan made in the 60ies had a lot of things that weren't correct. We're going off of period photo's and original blueprints.

I'm posting in this thread, although I'm not sure it's the right place. I just received a book issued in conjunction with a display in Mantova of Tazio Nuvolari's archives. It turns out he was quite a photographer. Although I'm sure the book was published in limited numbers, I recommend it; full of fascinating photos.

There are two pics of an early Ferrari (MM, 1948 or 1949, I think) but of course no S/N. I am NOT a student of these early cars, but I'm sure someone here will be able to tell us the S/N? Or S/N's---I don't have the book in front of me and they could be two different cars.

Sorry to have such a small amount to go on. If I could figure out my scanner it would help!

That's the book; no ISBN that I can find. Photo no. i: May 2, 1948, MM, car no. (X)49---can't read the first no. Photo no. 2: June 13, 1948, Mantova (Mantua), car no. 2. Grill on first car appears to have 9 bars; second pic (no lights nor fenders) has 8 bars.

I was given the book by someone who was associated with the original display in Mantova. They are trying to get the display sent to the Petersen Museum in L.A. You could try contacting the printer at www.silvanaeditoriale.it

The '48 MM car should be sn010I, with Nuvolari. The number is 1049. The body is different from 002C, and if I'm correct was built by Allemano.
The Mantua car is sn008I with Nuvolari too, and the body is another one, from Ansaloni, if I remeber correctly.

She is really coming along and is very special. SportAuto Modena and Brandoli have done an amazing job of restoring her. I'll be testing her soon. She has a lot of offers and we may display her in Europe before she heads home.

Hi Ed. speaking of just getting something I just received a copy of this volume which was published in 1995 by the mayor's office of Maranello celebrating 50 years of Ferrari in the town. It is in both Italian and English with interesting articles, doccuments and photos and includes a remarkable collection of 14 pages of beautiful, sort of art nuveau style, original colour lithographs of the early cars.Have you ever seen this? I got it from a private sale in California and have never seen mention of it thru any dealers eather here or in Europe. Now regarding your Nuvolari book may I say first I am pleased to hear you are still collecting. It certainly is engrosing and habitual. I have several pictures of Nuvolari using a camera. Where did you get the book? Are there othere available? just one man's opinion tongascrew
