Umm I don't think thats what really happened. It sounds like he was wondering if you needed any special tools to work on a Ferrari. Just seems so much more believable.

I live just outside Houston, and was out in my 355 Spider this weekend. I came to the light at the intersection where the Beltway and 288 meet (not that this matters to anyone). Anyway, it's a big spot for the homeless or less fortunate to stand with signs asking for help and donations.

As I pull up to the light and am the only one there, the guy on the corner says to me, "I've been here all day, and that is the nicest car I've seen! It's beautiful! It looks just like a picture on a poster you'd see on a wall!" I thanked the guy and handed him a $20. He thanked me over and over, looked at the money, and said, "Thank you!! I can go home now."

...wait, I thought he was homeless! Nonetheless, it made me feel really good.

Helped him out? For sure! He'll be able to launch a full-on bender with that, no doubt! Get a job, you bum...

This was 1998 in Raleigh, NC. I was in front of a pet shop getting cat food for my cat. While I was walking back to my black 355 I overheard an old gent talking to his friend saying that "I didn't know the new Mustang is out"..... uhhhh...

2 weeks ago, I was driving the 355 Challenge on a highway near Bangkok...with my 6-yr old son, this thing is loud. A truck full of girls sped up next to the 355. All of a sudden, the windows were down and 5 ladies's head popped out and start screaming about wanting sex and what a car and whatnot... my son turned to me and ask what's wrong with them... luckily he didn't hear the sex part...ha ha ha.

About 6 years ago, I owned a 328 with Koenig body kit for a while. My friend who saw it told me..."That's a badly done kit car!"....

I pulled up next to a flatbed tow truck at a light. The operator was tightening up the straps holding down a 57 chevy on the back. He looks at me next to him and says " nice car, I tow them all the time". Thanks, see ya!

After reading through this hilarious thread, I've decided that my first F-car will have a vanity plate that reads, "MY STANG," simply for the wonderful irony and priceless comments it will produce. ;)

^ True. I'll just have to counter with something utterly ridiculous like, "It's a special edition. Ferrari loaned 'em their horse for the 250th anniversary." :)

    I've just discovered this thread!
    Some comments are... Wierd! :p

A few months ago I was waiting for my dad in our 308, somebody told to his son: Look! A Porsche 944!

And now I drive the car so I Hear "Learner on a Ferrari... Classy!"

    :)

Got this one the other day from a middle aged woman (blonde, no kidding)

    "Do the doors go up"

I chuckled and told her that doors go up on a Lambo, and this is a Ferrari.

Or, I could have given her Shamile's line - "When the doors go up, the pants come down"

I was getting gas this weekend when two women who were on the other side of the pump island came around and asked if they could take some pics of my car. I said sure and I moved out of the way. One of them asked me what kind of car it was. I said, "a Ferrari 348". She said, "I thought it was a Ferrari. My husband will love these pictures". Then the second woman said, "Oh yes, my girlfriend's husband has one of these Fiero's". The first woman looked at her and said, "Are you crazy? That is a totally different car!". I said, "The Fiero is made by GM". The second woman then asked, "Well then who makes Ferrari?". The first woman turned to her and said, "Ferrari makes it! How dumb are you? Let's go before you embarrass me any more!" :D

I always get the same two questions: "What kinda gas mileage do you get?" and "Where are you going to drive it?" The second question is perplexing, in light of the fact that I have obviously driven it to where we having the conversation!
