Besides Mom just LOVES that all my packages ship to her house...... She was convinced the air horn system I forwarded on Magnum's behalf to Spain was some sort of International intrigue..... "Naw, momma it just goes 'beep beep"....honest, that's ALL it does." Wait 'till my new clutch arrives, it'll be HEAVY!
Just a thought. There is no such language a Swiss. It eather French, Italian,German or once in a while English just oneman's opinion tongascrew
You got it and the French hate it. Almost as bad as the Belgian they speak in Montreal. just one man's opinion tongascrew
Actually this is not true. There is such thing as Swiss (alto it goes under a different name that is just escaping me now. Think it is Roman) but only 1% of the Swiss population speak it. The aforementioned e-mail is probably in Zurichdeutch, which is a dialect that resembles German. Their French is slightly different from the one in France but it is understandable, while the Zurichdeutch will leave you blinking dumb even with a perfect German. My Grandfather was Swiss and even himself always laughed that Switzerland is the only country where people from three different ends of the country can not understand each other.
wrong in my opinion If i go to socal in the US, most people speak spanish.....NOW THAT's WEIRD ))))))) In belgium we are bilingual ( french and dutch ), most people in our small country speak both languages. Also most speak english, so you see ... languages are very important to us. back on-topic...received my 45th anniversary GTO book. Very nice book, with some great pictures in it. Also found a copy of Mr Massini's 250LM book on ebay. For 100euro a bargain
Let's get back on track please. I think this is a great book. It was written by Gianni Rogliatti, who has a vast amount of Ferrari knowlege. And it helps one to understand the back-ground to Ferrari and the factory, as there a good chapter on the early Auto Avio days and machine tools and brochures etc. But, I don't like the 14 pages of lithographs. Poorly done sketches of Ferraris are a waste of space as far as I'm concerned. But it is a Ferrari approved publication and a welcome addition to my library. Nathan PS - I was at Monza on Thursday and believe that you can get copies from Libreria Autodromo - email: [email protected] for prices.
A nice publication with very good photograpy, a bit comparable to the Japanese "Scuderia" magazine, but easier to read Actually it was only a magazine in the first years, but has switched to being a big yearbook about 5 years ago. It´s still in publication this way and I think it can be well recommended. Ciao, Lars T.
^ Thanks, Lars. I'll try to get a copy. Unfortunately, if I like it, my collecting tendencies will activate and I'll be searching for a complete set! Jack.
Hi Jack, Haha, isn´t that the way it always goes? Just prepare yourself for the complete set then, since I´m quite sure you´ll like it Ciao, Lars T. PS: I think the yearbooks started in 2005 (or maybe 2004?) and the magazines were issues 1-11
Hi Lars, Here's my complete overview of the World in Red series http://dacorsa.com/magazines/world-in-red Ciao, Edwin
the 'language' you are referring to is 'Rhaeto-Romanic'. you are so right. I live 60 mls. north of the swiss border and 100 mls. north of Zurich and understand barely one single word. Best Regards from Germany Martin
Hello everyone. This is my first post in this thread. I was in France a few weeks ago and decided to look for some Ferrari books. I picked up "Ferrari entre realite et legend" by Otto Grizzi and "Ferrari" by Ranier Schegelmich. While I could have picked up the Grizzi book and the German version of the Schegelmich title at Amazon, I was able to get better prices at the actual bookstore. First impression, great photos and both books seem fairly comprehensive. I'll post again once I really dig into them. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, welcome, In addition to the specific Ferrari section on amazon try abebooks,t e warth abd the "manuals and literature". section of Ferrari on E bay Motors . Good luck. tongascrew
Hi all, During my trip to Maranello last week, I bought some books and magazines to add to my collection (see pics below). Especially the Mille Miglia 1957 book can be well recommended - it´s full of old pics and shows many Ferraris too. At a price of around EUR 50, it´s definitely worth getting in my opinion. Sorry for the delay, I managed to put my paws on this magazine (whilst searching for something else). Hopefully the text is readable, if not, and if anyone is interested I can scan and send them via e-mail. Just received this book from a good buddy and indeed, a great add to my growing collection. Also added "Ferrari The Sports and Gran Turismo Cars" 1st edition 1968 by Fitzgerald and Merritt. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I picked this one up when I was in Italy last month. I like art and this is good. Ferrari have used Naso's art for some of their posters and promo items. It's a ltd edition of 2500 copies only. I believe that Ferrari Market Letter has it in stock. Nathan Image Unavailable, Please Login
One of the few affordable collections of Klementaski out there! Congrats! I scored a nice Alexander retrospective recently, from a widow on eBay.
