Woo-hoo Alonso!! P5 - I knew he could do it!! He's looked strong all weekend! That 6/10 he brings showed up. Just Like in testing! I'm thinking about buying a hat, shirt or maybe I'll break down and get a replica helmet! Any good sources? Forza Fernando!!! Ole! The podium is almost in sight!
Really? I thought I just heard Jensen crying for the return of the old tires and big V10 motors. Wouldn't be because they were worse
There could be a number of reasons for why he made that comment. The old tires definitely didn't drop off the performance cliff like these do. But I'd be really surprised if the grooved tires had more grip than these, particularly the super soft ones.
Any word on whether MS will get a penalty? By when have the stewards made their decision? Although I don't think he'll get a penalty.
He did a 26.0 earlier today. He had pace, that's why I'm thinking it might have been an issue. Again.
This season is probably a write off for the F cars. The problem is they have to jump over not only Red Bull but McLaren and at times Renault. Then, there continues this big gap between Alonso and Massa. It's going to be difficult to improve that much while others are also improving. And, if there is a fight between McLaren and Red Bull forming, both of those teams will go all out to get the most out of the cars

You know it's bad when ESPN has an entire article dedicated to pointing out that 5th is Alonso's best qualifying result yet... I have a feeling we're just going to have to grit our teeth through the rest of the season...
Well yes he did, however I don't think it effected Hamilton, but thats not the point, since when have the FIA/stewards started to be consistant, surely they can't be using some discretion and common sense now.
+1 The team needs a lot of things at this point: A new car, some new (non Italian) designers, a non Italian team manager, a new #2 driver. And probably to make that happen: LdM outta there With luck the F150 Italia will win a race this year, but I wouldn't bet on it. It might go down in history as worse than the 2009 car.
I don't want to toss the baby out with the water, so change should be evolutionary rather than revolutionary. But it needs to start at the top, which means LdM needs to realize that the best teams in the world are made from the best people in the world and not from who is available in Italy.
I suppose when rethinking that, last year Mclaren and co didn't go forwards but remained static, whereas Ferrari made some good leaps forward.
+1 Nothing seems to be working for the F-Cars. The team needs fundamental changes from the top down, but I do not think the drivers need changing. Ferrari, in my opinion, needs an "Adrian Newey" and a strong leader at the helm who has a history of winning; someone that's been there before. Where Ferrari will finds these peoople, who knows. They use to have the right people but got rid of them. I think that fact alone is going to make it very difficult to build a team from the ground up. Mark
The only reprimand which came of was Di Resta being "talked to" by the stewards for not stopping at the weighbridge. The Schu thing in Q1 was a non-issue. Ferrari has used all their soft tires at least once. They are going to have a tough race tomorrow.
Are you sure about that? As noted, Phil didn't run in Q3, so hopefully he's got a set stashed? Cheers, Ian
