mine was painted flat black before I sprayed it in semigloss black-- Euro GT 02840
no undercoating or anything like that
I believe Jim S's Dino is all original-- only guys with cars they know are original or concours judges will know for sure, as it is possible it changed over time

I assume engine paint (~500 degree paint) to resist all that rising engine heat?

The paint on mine is very thick. Peeling in places is maybe 1/16" thick. Will just remove and paint with high-temp black.

    Front hood, satin black
Engine hood, body schutz + satin black
Trunk lid, some sort of carpet/felt - black

As far as which series had what, Matthias can clarify,
and while on it, where is the satin black cutoff on the three openings end? Is it the same on all cars?

    Regards, Alberto

Semi gloss to flat black - I will double check. No undercoating. No special heat sensitive paint. Mine is original - never molested.

When did they start/stop using felt on the trunk lid? I have a late USA GTS and as far as I know it never had the felt.

I wrote semi gloss, but really it closer to satin black, no special paint. Dont't think i've noticed it being that hot. We'll see how it goes.

My original underside looks almost like the black crinkle paint seen on some valve covers.
