Hi guys During qualy I spotted a F-duct kind of opening on Schuey's front end. I looked around on some websites but couldn't find anyone reporting on it. Did he complain about his balls overheating or did Brawn pull another aerodynamic gimmick?? Can someone shed some light on this innovation? Image Unavailable, Please Login
During FP2 I noticed him taking his left hand off the wheel and doing what I thought was covering the F-duct hole. But I thought it was banned this year so I don't know what he was doing. My next guess was they changed his rear wing controller from electronic to manual because he was having problems with it last race.
nah, they installed that lever at some point last year, but that is to my knowledge to play around with break balance. As I understood the Mercs were so late with their f-duct last year (and is was so sensitive) because they experimented with a passive system, assuming the FIA would trash the active one. But I don´t know what rule changes were implemented to stop that as well. But then I would be wondering why you would need an opening at the front with a passive system, as the air flow does not need to pass the driver...
The BBC may be good, but we got the "magic paddle"...... [IIRC, Ross (?) told him that it was *latched*.....] Seriously, what's the BBC saying on the topic? Cheers, Ian PS - When he's fiddling behind the wheel he is indeed adjusting brake balance - Only mechanical adjustments are allowed. PPS - Which is why I don't understand a couple of steering wheel buttons that do the same thing......
BBC asked Ross the question. He said he wouldn't tell. The BBC said "it was better than being lied to" lol
Isn't that just a normal cooling thing for the electronics? IIRC i think the Ferrari F2007 had that as well..
