    Hello all,

I was redirected here after posting in the new members section. Basically:

I am in a bit of a situation. The guy I work for has recently purchased not one, but two Mondials and has made it my test in life to keep them running. One is an 85 cab. and the other is, I think, an 80 Mondial 8 with an 89 QV motor dropped in the back. The drop top is near show room condition and is not a problem, the other... is in not so good of shape. Someone left it in a field under a tarp for a year or so here in Hong Kong.. Then did an engine swap, and now:

It does run, and drives alright but I have gathered from trolling the internet that the warm starting issue and the "death at a stop light," I am most likely after a Warm up Regulator. But, I am in Hong Kong... So when it comes to used parts... I am up a creek without a paddle. If you all have any advice I would be greatly appreciative. I purchased a rebuild kit that consists of some bolts and O rings, but I have been reading a lot on how this is a terrible idea to attempt by ones self. I have found some used/rebuilt ones for around the 375 USD mark, but I am sure there have to be more options than these. I am a transplant here in Hong Kong, originally from the woods up in NH, so I am accustom to sourcing parts from grave yard of sorts, or at least someone who parts cars out. I am out of my depth, mostly have ever worked on mid 80s BMWs and some old Jags. So any tips would be awesome.

Thanks, and some picks of his newest car ( the cabriolet; blurry ) and some of the other beauties that I found hidden away in the dealer ship's store room here in HK while sorting out paper work.

    Thanks

What he said - no wisdom, just attitudes and strong opinions.

Seriously, though, I think you might want to look at the stickies in the 308/328 forum and you may want to ask the same question in that forum (although you may want to omit the fact that the engine is in a Mondial...). In addition to used parts, you may find a corresponding part for another a lower price marque.
