I wonder if anyone will play the tyre game/strategy and purposely save tyres for the race and possibly miss the top 10??????
Absolutely!! Its super exciting when its close racing! The strategy part comes into it and races are won or lost. FORZA FERRARI! Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's not about the 2011 season but still cool http://theselvedgeyard.wordpress.com/2011/05/08/scuderia-ferrari-from-silverstone-to-monaco-life-magazine-may-1956/#more-26201
Why? No one could afford to attend anyway. http://www.ekathimerini.com/4dcgi/_w_articles_wsite2_2_10/05/2011_390320
most of what they say about Ferrari and the D50 is wrong, don't use this site as a reference Speedy. e.g. Lancia gave Ferrari the D50 team - Ferrari were almost as broke as Lancia. Lancia couldn't afford to continue with F1 due to losses from their road car business. Ferrari ran the D50 unmodified and won the championship. It was the following season when they removed the pannier tanks and other Jano innovations, then called the car the 801. It was a complete failure. Pretty much the complete opposite of the text on the Selvedgeyard site. Typical unverified web BS.
didn't Ferrari just mould the tanks into the body for the following season ? Don't think they removed them Also, in some of the photos there are fairings from some of the tanks to the body but in others the tanks are a separate item
there were 2 versions of the D50 in 1956, one with separate pannier tanks and the other with the tanks faired in. The idea of pannier tanks was that weight distribution remained unchanged as fuel was used. Lancia were years ahead of their time with this idea. The 801 put the fuel tanks back in the tail, so you had a high CoG and heavy rear bias when the tank was full and the weight moved forward as fuel was used. This was NIH (Not Invented Here) syndrome hard at work, as Ferrari reverted to their failed 1955 design ideas, which failed again in 1957. Image Unavailable, Please Login

The Silverstone promo-day? Seems Fernando A has decided Maranello is his home from home. They just signed him up through '16, according to Autosport.
