Hey Jim how's it hanging partner? Just wanted to chime in with a thought that I'm sure others would enjoy aswell. How about a video with commentary from YOU 'the mad scientist' driving the car? We will call it the "Victory Lap"!!

Awesome footage! Thanks so much for that. Was that one particular driver at the wheel for that, or what it a combination of all of them edited together?

    As for your drivers.

    You have chosen...wisely.

Their style(s)/skills line up with the car's capabilities quite nicely.

Mika was the first driver. Luca got in at the Fuel stop but that's where we overheated due to overlong stop and no cooling fan. We now have an electric fan and water pump so we should be fine. We now have a bit more HP but a bit more weight as well. The Ferrari engine doesn't like air restriction and we believe BMW is able to make more hp with the same restriction. The Officials are checking all of this out for the 24 and have reduced the VLN 9 MB SLR's which had way too little restriction. Hopefully we'll do better.

The Lexus and the Porsche thought we were Pretty Boys who would brake when challenged rather than holding the line as they thought we be afraid to get hit. As Mika said you can't hit a car with more downforce than you...

This Saturday we will Roll The Torch and hopefull Rock The Ring as well.

    Jim,

did you ever drive the car yourself? If so, what is it like?

<apologies if that was answered in the 573 pages of this thread already>

The amazing downforce on your car is very evident in the last video, that thing is stuck to the track. Why does it look like you have so much more downforce than the others? Do they not pay attention to it, are they held back by the car's limits, or do regulations prevent them from adding more?

    Re: @8:15...

That's a pretty unlucky result of someone else missing a braking point and understeering.

Glad it wasn't your car. Sucks for the Porsche.

Also, looks like she's keeping pace on the straights a bit better now. We all know she could use a bit more oomph, though...

But watching her in the corners is fantastic. At 5:32, the Porsche driver is visibly correcting for about two seconds...

P4/5 is just tapping her feet like an impatient school girl in the lunch line. :D

Hey Jim - good luck for the race this coming weekend!

Great video from the last race. Aside from a bit more power and a bit more weight, have you added anymore downforce since then?

Will the race be broadcast on television or webcast to the U.S.? It would be great to see the cars run this Saturday. If anyone knows, please pass details. My apologies if covered somewhere else in the posts. Best of luck, SCG! Great thread.

great driving, and video, just need to get the audio sorted.

Incredibly stupid move by the LFA at 8:20. Except for the speed that's very similar to a crash I witnessed firsthand from a following car during Touristenfahrt in 2006. A dumb Swiss kid in a Celica with about 5 whole laps under his belt launched a biker over Adenauer Forst when he flew by us on the inside as we were braking. Looks like the LFA just forgot there was a chicane coming up....

best of luck this weekend :)

Apologies not quite up to speed with how VLN operates over the weekend, has qualifying happened already, and if so, how did it go?
