My 430 has the entire covered with clear bra.. I purchased the car this way.. Anyone have thoughts on the best wax for the clear bra? ??
I would use a synthetic rather than a carnuba. Most of the good synthetics like Zaino have UV protectorant to prevent yellowing of the clear bra.
Nanoskin Hydrophobic and Glass Molecule are the best that we have found. Incredible new nano coatings give much better protection than standard synthetics, and carnauba waxes. Both are available here. http://www.metropolitandetail.com/ecCat_1 John
Just had two bras installed at Ultra Shield. Sean recommends a good quality way like Meguiar's Tech Wax 2.0, or Turtle Wax makes a clear wax. Be sure to wax away from the bra so you don't get wax build up on the seams. No abrasive polishes, use Quick Detail for maintenance between waxing. Wax once a month.
I have a clear bra on my 360 done by Premier Protective Films in Northern California. They specifically recommend synthetic polymer sealants over carnuba wax.
Waxes do not have much protective capabilities over the film. Every paint protection film has a either a topcoat or clearcoat that is very different from the clearcoat on paint. There are very few products designed specifically to clean paint protection film..... http://premiermobilegroup.com/pf1_products.shtml These products are designed for film to help it last and with our TTR....for those who track their cars, this was developed to combat tire marks.
