Aftermarket coil over for California?

Exactly who makes them?
I want stiffer suspension
The factory is way too soft for my like

 

The OEM platform has completely adjustible suspension--that is the effect of coil-overs come on the stock car--that is you can set ride heights and corner weight the suspension on the stock setups.

So, all you need are stiffer springs and stiffer shocks.

 

Just curious, is yours equiped with Magnaride or not?

 

I am not 100% sure but when I select to sport the suspension firms up directly.

 

Not sure? Didn't you feel it in your pocketbook when you chose the option?

 

Credibility issues or a very rich owner who already has coil-overs and does not know it.

If it firms up a lot in Sport, then you have magneride. I happen to chat about that with the MAG mechanic last Monday. No magneride then the sport button does nothing with the suspension, it can't since there is nothing to adjust, just engine and trani mapping.

Rick- And that is very interesting because that makes the California the first Ferrari in a long time that is available without variable shock absorbers. Even the parts manual refers to them as dual mode with adjustable setting (magneride), and fixed setting for the standard shocks.

Thanks a lot Rick!! I guess I have Magneride. When I switch to SPORT. I can feel it firms up and stiffer but nothing compare with my 997TT with SPORT on. How do I tell if I have magneride on my Cali? My suspension looks like aftermarket coil overs. So now, should I go H&R? Novitec springs or coil overs? Does KW has anything for Cali????

I want to make this cali as sporty as possible.

 

If you bought the car new you could look at the sticker (I always keep them).

If you bought the car used, get the VIN and call the dealer and ask them what's on the car.

I would think magnaride would be the ultimate. But I like a comfortable ride. Save the kidneys.

Go with the Novitec coil over kit that also has the hydraulic front axle lift. You will get a stiffer, sportier ride and when you get to speed bumps or driveways you can push the button and the front axle raises 40mm to clear the obstacle.

Maybe someone can help me out here. I have the "Magnaride Dual Mode" on my options list specified as (option) MADM. I thought that CCM1 referred to "first generation carbon ceramic breaks"?

contact your dealer and request they contact the factory on your behalf. The factory may have a software solution to your desire for stiffer set-up. Good luck and let us know.

 

My dealer don't allow us to adjust the coilovers or change aftermarket parts.

 

Go buy from RMT (rebuilders master tech) - I worked with them for a month to "perfect" the stock Ferrari Coilover (with Magna-ride) for 2009-2014 California. It took some engineering but they got it right. I paid $1000 for BOTH rears and save $3k vs buying from the dealer.
I took out the stock coilovers and shipped to Florida; they rebuilt them and sent them back and I reinstalled them. Good as new.
