Had a comment I had to chuckle over today about my 92 512TR being a 20 year old car and out dated. Oh well...can't win them all. :)

Yeah, it really sucks having an old 12 cylinder clunker.............................
    Obviously they don't "get it".

I prefer "old school" or "modern classic" or in the case of the early Testarossas..."80s Icon".

Don't let the jerks get you down!

They probably wouldn't find it outdated after a spirited drive through the countryside. :)

Yeah, like those old stupid Martin Guitars, Dom Perignon rose, and ridiculous Rolex Oyster Daytonas. Who'd have 'em?

Reminds me of a friend here in New Zealand with a 166 Inter who had it on a Ferrari Owners Club run with us on the West Coast of the South Island. We were at an old pub for lunch and some young guys were looking at it and one made the comment that it must be quite valuable. The owner looked at him with a deadpan straight face and said "Nah,not worth much at all, nobody wants these old things, they are too old" The guys went away happy.Certainly gave a few laughs. If only they had been told the real value!! Your 512TR must be one of the most desirable cars of little value because its old in the world.Jealousy sure brings out the worst in people eh??

These kids obviously couldn't care less if the TR is over 20 years old, it's a Ferrari after all. ;)

Ahh, my feelings were not hurt. I found it comical actually. Who can say they have a Lamborghini and a Ferrari beside shamille. Lol. I like owning a piece of automotive history and like the fact that i can work on it too. So all is good. Figured some of you would get a kick out of the comment since i am sure none of you ever hear it! Lol

Barbarians at the gate... A Testa and especially so in 512TR form is nothing to sneeze at.
Outdated? Nah, it's a cycle low and smart people know what to do at such times. :)

:D My Boxer is even more out dated than your 512TR.

Some time ago with the car sitting in a parking lot, a high school kids walks up, says nice car. Then adds, too bad someone put such cheap tires on it,,,, while looking discustedly at my brand new XWX's,,,, I just shrugged my shoulders,,, what are ya gonna do...

i have so many outdated cars i might as well just kill myself now!

but, there arent that many 'outdated' cars that can do 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, and nearly 200mph. so i guess i'll keep it.

Nothing like a car YOU have to drive without any aids. So far we are not shifting anymore, applying throttle and brakes without help. Soon cars will be driving themselves. I have a garage full of old outdated junk.....Must be time for a yard sale :)

    :)

I own an 1860's Martin 2-18. It sounds like something God couldn't have even dreamt up. You can't even record it, it is so subtle. Just divine.

Back on topic: being relevant is highly overrated. I'd much rather be irrelevant but well loved. So go and enjoy those '80ies beauties!

The F40 is even more low tech than the 512TR so its obviously a junker now :)

Is that really true? After all, it is turbocharged...

I viewed the Testarossa as fairly conservative engineering, high tech for it's day, but would have said the F40 went beyond it.

Next time tell them "I'm keeping this old heap in case cash for clunkers is offered again. If not I'll be crushing it into a custom coffee table".

Impressive! Talk about "Patina". Some people who swear they do, but actually have no clue. One of these guitars is worth 100 bucks the other is worth about $80K.

The lines on the Testarossa and 512 TR are breath taking. Unfortunately, most people do not have good taste. Just look at that chic Arnold was banging!! Yikes!!!

If you ever decide to sell your worn stratocastor keep me in mind. I have a bunch of new ones I'll trade you for it. I love the neck on it. Very nice!
