Suggestions. How would you guys cover the holes. In the past I have used flush top, black, GM or rustproof plugs. It was very subtle. Just want some suggestion. Yes, I had the option of closing them up for good. But since I had the non oem wing painted, I figured leave them open. Now thinking, I should have closed them. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You lucky dogs. What an event. That cake is something else. That's really the best car cake I have seen.
Peter: In 1988 I had a trapezoidally shaped plate made up that covered the holes and bolted from the underside of the trunk for my QV DD. When I felt like mounting the wing, I undid the units and mounted the wing. Naturally the pate was finished in the car's paint color (Rosso Siviglia).
Forgot to mention, the item as descibed above can be partially seen in the Chris Bennet Countach book. Its the wingless car with the Coke can sat on top of the rear trunk-lid. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the compliment, and to enzokidd & ralfabco for same too. Seriously, I have never owned a motorcar that attracts as much attention as this car does. And Ive owned some interesting motorcars..
Joe: Please stop posting pics of your car; it makes me ache looking at it all the while knowing that I can't have it.
Alberto, you can come by anytime & go for a ride. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Peter... Amazing car...huge congrats on getting it done....well worth the wait. The color is fantastic. Drive it often Brian
I can back that up...Joe took me for a spirited ride and it certainly hauls....and sounds fantastic. Brian
Yes 40010 is now black. I believe the Oro Convoy LP400 met with an accident shortly after the Earls Court Show. Is there another Oro LP400 out there anywhere? The Silhouette shared its colour chart with the LP400. Here is a copy with titles but the appearance of the colours is not accurate. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Interesting fact: According to my count from the video, 20 Countachs, and 17 of them has the rear wing! Only 3 didn't. Wow! Just shows the crazy popularity of the rear wing. That wing, by itself is an eighties icon.
Love the yellow 88 1/2! I was actually looking for a "Yellow" Countach when I started the search for mine. But at the time, all I could find were White, Red and Black! ;-) Mike
I don't think the yellow one is an 88 1/2. The side skirt has only two slots, which means it is an aftermarket skirt. The factory skirt used in 88 1/2 had three slots. So, imo the yellow one is an 87 or 88 with aftermarket skirts.
you should look for a period correct "moody" wing, i bet Joe or Tony can find one somewhere p.s. i have one original moody wing for an S1-S2 at home and a rear spare trunk lid ...just in case i should ever get an other one
