Watch which says "Ballys," given to my dad at his retirement from that casino. Made by Bulova. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice watch. I have the old style GMT Master. The big difference between the GMT I and GMT II is the ability to set the GMT Hour Hand independently from the primary Hour Hand. On the GMT I, the GMT Hour Hand moves proportionately to the primary Hour Hand and the corrected GMT time is set using the bezel. This allows 2 time zones to be displayed (e.g. local and GMT). On the GMT II, you can display 3 time zones: local time, GMT, and by moving the bezel, some offset from GMT. If I'm not mistaken, your watch in the picture is showing the GMT Hour Hand set only one hour ahead of local time. Local time = 7:45 and GMT time = 8:45. I assume you are not in the -1 UTC time zone, so I'm thinking you have the GMT hand being used for something other than UTC, perhaps the neighboring time zone to the East where a relative lives or vacation home? .
