Given the many tire changes there must be over 20,000 used tires at the end of this year.

What happens to them? I'd love to get one as a souvenir. Does anybody know where to get them?

Since Pirelli has a monopoly I doubt they are considered a secret.

I had the same idea and looked into it. They are impossible to get! Pirelli keeps all the tires and destroys them once they extract all the data.

Good question, I did have a similar thought myself, just thinking it was such a waste, some tyres are goosed after a single flying lap in Q.

Maybe they should sell them as souvenirs generate some cash back.

I'd love to get a hold of one. :D

I seem to recall someone on FChat has one or two used F1 tires from the 1980s. I can't remember who though.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Agreed. I would surely nab a soft and stick it on my garage wall.

    :)

And since you and Ferraripilot chimed in, I thought I added a little extra to the shot.

I'd love one too. A friend has a Bridgestone from 2001 if I recall in his office.

They're recycled into cheap shiny suits.

Like 15 years ago they sold these as cocktail tables. I threw the table parts away and kept the original tire

You can probably sweep up about ten sets from off line, at the end of the race.

They go to heaven. Don't be sad; someday you'll be reunited with them forever.

Edited to add: Oh, except the ones that were on Renaults. They drop straight into Hell, "where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched." Mark 9:48.

Man, those must have driven like complete sh*t as cocktail tables. F1 engineers...hard to figure them out.

i agree seems like such a waste to destroy so many tires that they could probably sell for several hundred dollars/tire.
