Now that Austin is on the official FIA calendar, will the race really happen?

  1. Yes, it will happen.

  2. No, no way for construction to finish.

The paperwork you refer to is not what I referred to. Neither the State of Texas nor the City of Austin has any jurisdiction over the location of gas pipelines. They're under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission which, from what I've seen has most definitely not approved any of this. The "permits" you cite are worthless.

Generally if a local building permit is released, i would think a contingency of that would be approval of any other regulatory bodies.....

Show us your paperwork please, I would really like to see it......

i will check with my mom in the morning. She deals with stuff like this for a living

Asked my mom, it falls under the Texas Railroad commission actually......... Did a cursory search, and found this off their website:

Right, these guys don't care about silly things like permits, remember this project is run by a couple of rednecks and they are just moving dirt around...thankfully watchdogs like you will set them straight!

GIS data off of the rail road commissions site.

the red section in the first pic is the 3 inch gas line

the red section in the second pic is the 20 inch gas line

Can't tell what part of the section they are working on without looking at the filings, but it does match up with the info I posted. Gonna get my mom to see if she can look up the filing records from her office tomorrow. Ya know, just to make sure I'm right...........;)

He referenced my username earlier in a post where he made unsubstantiated claims about the permit process of a federal regulatory body that doesn't cover the scope of this project.
I'm trying to keep it civil. I don't mind someone taken a different position than mine on a topic, just bring something more than disinformation to the discussion.

    Reasonable I think.

aww shucks, I just spent a few minutes on a website. :D

You can't just duct tape it together?

on a side note. City of Austin accepting bids for the offsite/onsite water improvements:

The Texas Railroad Commission has jurisdiction only over intrastate lines and rates. FERC has exclusive jurisdiction over interstate transmission lines which, from what I've seen, includes the Longhorn Pipeline. No match point yet simple one. Get you mom to show us actual permits and consent of the owners to move the lines before you start saying this deal is done. And while you're at it get your friends at COTA to show us the money.

Hi F1TopFan, if that's what you are. No profile? Just joined? Might want to ease up on the attitude and provide some information in your profile and in your posts as others do. It helps identify people, even if you just say "John Bigbootay in the 5th dimension". Otherwise, you are acting like a troll or wish to express your displeasure with building a track (falsely naming yourself a fan), or displeasure with a bid that you did not get on the project.

This thread is merely an entertainment/information thread and there's nothing anyone needs to prove to you or anyone else. Showing permits or anything else you may require on this thread will have an effect on changing the COTA project by.... 0.00%.

Pipe transmission lines construction/ change of less than 1 mile in length, do not require filing with the TRC.

Pipe transmissions construction/change of over 1 mile require 30 days notice before moving. Generally no hearings are needed for this.....

As to the 'longhorn pipeline' you mention if you care to look it up on the non-important state website, feel free. It's T-4 number, is T05431

Go here, if you wanna see the transmission permits:

    http://rrcsearch.neubus.com/esd-rrc/index.php?subaction=1&profile=GST4&district=&field_no=&field_name=&lease_id=&lease_name=&fluid_no=&api_no=&docket_no=&docket_type=&city=&app_name=&app_file_date_from=&app_file_date_to=&final_order_date_from=&final_order_date_to=&admin_close_date_from=&admin_close_date_to=&show_t4permit_no=on&t4permit_no=T05431&show_county=on&county=&show_operator_name=on&operator_name=&show_operator_no=on&operator_no=&company_id=&company_name=&year=&drilling_no=&commingling_permit_no=&county_name=&county_number=&survey_name=&survey_section_number=&alternate_survey_name=&abstract_number=&scan_date_from=&scan_date_to=&ipp=10#results

As of today, no PS-48's have been filed to move the pipeline. So either you are right, and they haven't gotten approval to move it, or it is less than the mile in length.......

Picture below, the red, is your 'longhorn pipeline'

Easy there. Just because somebody doesn't fill in the user profile and has only a handful of posts doesn't make him a troll.

Also F1TopFan's post are way more articulate and full of information than what I would consider trolling. A typical anti Austin troll post would be "Austin sucks! This track is stupid. F1 fans are idiots."

I cant say whether F1TopFan got his facts right or not, but I find his arguments at least fascinating. As are the replies to them. This to me is a healthy debate and not some trollfest.
