There are sprint races and the Jim Richards enduro cup races, all counting for the championship. The 40 lapper was an enduro, presumably the short races are tomorrow?
there was a safety car for about 6-7 laps as Kingsley & Trende crashed at the northern hairpin... I think they were in 2nd and 3rd at the time....
Took out Mr Trende (he went off..) when Mr R.Knight & Mr Kingsley had nowhere to go and clobbered him. I dont think these guys will be back today... Mr Kingsley went to hospital with an injured foot. I am still curious why the championship winner of last season isnt celebrating by running #1 on the side...
I am sure it is fear of the rest of the field putting excrement on him.. poseur or something... Mr Kingsley didnt run it last year either, for similar reasons... But if I spent a year, and a shedload of sheckels on winning a national series... its one of the few perks, besides the trophies..
Quite a few don't run #1 after winning. Mr. Rossi comes to mind and I think Stoner continued to run #27. They prefer their own number. Could be a luck thing.
2011 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Series - Mallala Race 2 Story off the Shannons Nationals FB is that Mr Kingsley's car is cactus, and wont see the track again with that shell. An alternative is available... but not for today!
very nice thanks for sharing scud's quite handsome in a helmet I'd like one of those Porsches....in red/tan
while the lambo is uber quick, and the fastest tin top in australia as confirmed by simonsen at the creek on the weekend doing a 28 in ted's 560 GT3, not so sure about the safety aspect. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oLVxSwhyzo&feature=related[/ame] the porsche hit faster, harder and for longer. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJTApioaUdU[/ame]
That was terrible, thanks for the warning. Two totally different hits though. The lambo seemed to hit a wall end front on, the Porsche bounced off a wall. How bad was the driver of the Lambo hurt.
ok, a different angle. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxPoge_NTIU&feature=related[/ame] both cars took the same hit IMO with the porsche quicker. driver had burnt legs but survived.
I stand corrected. He's pretty lucky then, he was in there for quite some time. I hate to think how many G's were in that hit and to dislodge him from his seat. If you compare that to the burns Reindler got from just a few seconds in his crash in WA in the V8 Supercar event. I have a Lambo stored in my factory at the moment and there is NOTHING in the front of them. A 70 x 25mm Aluminium member which is pre creased to assist in crumple.
difference is porsche build their race cars from scratch out of weissach, reiter take a chassis from lambo and modify it including adding their own roll cage. big diff. not poo pooing the lambo, i'd still have one.
