    Hi,
Brought my 599 in for the HGTE handling portion and a major service. I had the mirrors off(for carbon overlay) and the dealer told me this is why it came on..They cleared it but told me it would come on again on the way home(which it did)..They said to come back once the mirrors are on and it will be about an hour labor in cost to reset the code..
My question, is there any way around it like maybe a battery disconnect or do I have to bring it in.? I did start it and the light is there...TIA Kevin

The bottom of the mirror drivers side has a small nipple at the bottom. That nipple is an outside temp sensor. That works in tandem with the heat sensor in the engine compartment. If they are not in sync you will get a fault. Disconnecting the battery is not recommended because this can sometimes scramble more important computer systems and create more engine faults shutting down your engine completely. I had this problem with my 07 599 brought it in and had the problem corrected permantly in less than 20 min.

Thanks Speed, I knew about the temp sensor causing the fault as that is what the dealer told me..The dealer also told me it would be about an hour so I will see what they say and get it taken care of.
