    I've been looking for a GT for over a year and no luck. Does anyone know of any for sale? Ideally a strong driver Euro car, but interested in any. Prefer red, yellow or blue, but would consider all colors. Please PM me if any info. Thank you.

    Wonder if they welded the rear quarter side marker lights closed or was there more extensive body work? Front end is USA, rear quarters and tail lights Euro. Regardless, nice looking driver if mechanically sound.

    I have not inspected it nor do I have an interest in the car, but I have heard that it was mechanically excellent. I think the us/euro spec changes and headlights are the stumbling points.

    Thanks for the responses. I actually saw this car at Cars and Coffee several months ago. It looked like a nice driver, but the price at the time 149K seemed too high. It looks like the price is getting more in line with the market. Does anyone see anything else in the photos?

    The biggest problem I see is the Ferrari nose badge instead of the Dino one. It also has the PF badge on the drivers side fender, which it shouldn't. All in all, it looks like a nice car.

    I wish I understood why so many Dinos get Ferrari badges - likely the subject of past threads but it baffles me...

    When I was looking for a GT in 2005 (strangely, I prefer its lines to the GTS's), I thought it would be easy to find one, as the GTS is more popular and I thought less likely to be on the market. I was very wrong. GTs I found actually more difficult to find.

    My 71 Euro GT has 3 round indicator lights in the tach...that car has 1 round indicator in center and 2 large bar indicator lights...is that correct?

    Yes, the tachometer you describe is correct for your Euro Dino. The tacho shown in the photos for this car is correct for a US spec. Dino.

    Why would that be strange?


    The GT is the way the car was penned originally.

    The gentle curve to the roof section (vs the virtually flat roof section of the GTS) combined with the lightness/airiness suggested by the rear quarter window provide an aesthetically pleasing shape, IMHO.

    "Strange" only because the spider is so much more preferred in the market. I agree with your assessment actually. The 911 coupe looks so much better than the Targa, for the same reason. But that is a question of personal preference. Regards, Andres

    the GTS is actually much more preferred in the american market...in europe, the GT rules supreme!

    I think that was true in period only because in the U.S. the Dino wasn't officially sold until 1972 and most GTS's came to America. Today the purity of the coupe is highly sought after. It seems coupes for sale in the U.S. are much more rare and harder to find(in any condition).

    With time it also appears that the price gap between the coupes and the targa cars is narrowing. From what I have seen the gap is not as big in Europe as in the US but for sure the difference is shrinking. Not to start a war but I for one forget a GTS 5 seconds after seeing it and will remember a GT for years. To me at least the Dino was butchered when the roof was cut off.

    I respectfully disagree. When I boughyt my first Dino, the gap was about $5-10k difference between the gt and the gts. That was in 2001

    Today, the difference is much more than that and has consistenetly stayed that way.

    I too think the coupe looks better but on a nice day, if the weather is pleasant, the open air GTS is a ton of fun you can't get in a hardtop. Best to get one of each!
