The Spotters Thread is for ANY exotic that we spot in random circumstances. In Reno today: Goldish-grey (not sure what the official name for it is) Maserati Gran Turismo headed east on McCarran by the Lakeside intersection at around 11:15am. Haven't seen that car around town before. Dark Blue Bentley Continental GTC headed down Arrowcreek Parkway by the golf course at around 5:35pm. -G.B.
Same dark blue Bentley Continental GTC as yesterday. Today I spotted it heading south on HWY 395 by the Ford dealership. -G.B.
Red Ferrari 355 Spider in the parking lot of Coachcraft Auto Body by the downtown Renown Hospital. Grey Maserati Cambiocorsa heading north on 395 by Best Buy Black Maserati GranTurismo S (XSSSIVE) on Neil Rd. turning into the parking lot of Fed-Ex, Taco Bell, Subways, etc. -G.B.
First one I've seen in person. -G.B. Edit: For some reason, the colors are off when I upload my photos to FerrariChat. Here are links to hi-res photos with accurate colors. Grey Audi R8 in the Starbucks drive-thru by Galena. Red Ferrari F430 in the Tamarack Junction parking lot on South Virginia Street. -G.B.
F430GB: Have you ever considered refocusing your sightings and creating a thread under the topic: "Spotter Thread - The Hottest Girls I've Seen Today" ?? You would be GREAT at it! You've got an eye for "detail," shall we say ...
LMAO!! Well, let's think. Hypothetically speaking, if I DID start a thread entitled "Spotters Thread - The Hottest Girls I've Seen Today," how would I describe my "spots"? Example: "In Reno today... Fit blonde girl walking down South Virginia Street by the Summit Shopping Center. Looked to be about in her early 20s; designer blue skinny jeans with a black top and black heels. Carrying a black Gucci hand bag." -G.B.
Had to run to Winco to pick something up and spotted a silver Shelby Series 1 at the Shell Gas station on S. Virginia street between Winco and Ben's Wine store. -G.B.
Red 430 Spyder on east bound on Auburn Folsom Road in Granite Bay... passed my silver CS with a quick wave.
Yesterday I saw a new (Dealer Plates) blue 458 at Broadway and Ca. Drive in burlingame. Late afternoon. Nice looking car. I think I need one now.
430 GB..... Ive realized that you have posted 90% of the posts on this thread..... How in the world do you see so many exotics? That must be a full time job for you.... k
When you drive around as much as I do, you see a lot. Whenever I leave the house, I always PURPOSELY LOOK for exotics...Ferraris in particular. My friends think I'm a little crazy, yet they are always in awe when they're with me and they truly see how many exotics I spot. I have had many people contact me on this forum because they think I'm a fake and making these spots up. Truth is, I'm not. I've offered it many times and the offer still remains open; I'm willing to take anyone that is interested around town with me for a weekend and show him/her/them that I truly do see these cars...you just have to keep one eye open at all times. Best, -G.B.
I have to admit that while modern exotics are cool and fun to drive, they are fairly common in California and don't excite me all that much. I know, I'm jaded. However, when I see something that has piled on 25 or 30 years or more, then I get much more interested! These cars have had sympathetic owners at some point, which has allowed me to see them being used on the streets, not just at a car show. My hat is off to them! Saw a real life Bristol 401 last week. It was a work in progress, but it started with this fabulous rorty snort, and growled out of the parking lot with a high pitched thoroughbred sound from the pre-war BMW inline 6. *sigh* Now that is exotic!!!!!
I bet that Bristol was truly a sight to behold! You are very lucky indeed and hats off to its owner. It's great to see exotics of all marquees and ages being driven in every day circumstances; after all...they are JUST cars ya know... -G.B>
Guess I just don't like the looks of those German things. They did make some good tanks back in the day. -G.B. Edit: For some reason, the colors are off when I upload my photos to FerrariChat. I live in money central. It's still rare to see an Exotic!!! Here in Burlingame/Hillsborough I can count on 1 hand the number of "Exotics" I see annually. That's why I have to peek in garage daily. Just checked....it's still exotic. Thank you God.
Hey!!! I never said it was ugly!!! I like those things!!! [/QUOTE] I envy you. Ya know...the whole part about having an exotic in your garage (especially since the 355 is one of my favorites). But I think it sort of evens it out; you have a gorgeous car in your garage that you can call your own, but you see very few exotics otherwise. I, on the other hand, don't have an exotic in my garage that I can gawk at whenever I want, but I see quite a few exotics on the road. It sort of seems fair...but you still win since you have a 355. -G.B.
Black Bentley Continental GT in the Raley's parking lot by Galena right in front of Port of Subs. -G.B.
...but where are the pics? Nice to see the GT2RS though... Reno is a VERY small exotic community and I used to live in the area. Believe me, I "spot" when I'm visiting, for some reason I just do not see what you do... I either see Ed (I know his cars) or Excessive around and a few one-offs, but RARELY anything else to speak of. Just sayin' If there are as many high-end exotics up there you seem to be spotting, maybe I should move business? Would be a gold mine if you count the cars you "spot" Again, just sayin'
