    Texas!
Which car would you buy and why?

Me? I'd have to choose between a F599 GTO or a Porsche CGT.

Why? I'm one of those who believe nostalgia is highly over rated.

    Howza bout you?

If cost were no object? Ferrari 250 GTO, without question. Probably the greatest car ever made. Others include 288 GTO, F40, P3/4, Ford GT40, Porsche 917, etc.

I also wouldn't say no to a McLaren F1 GTR, especially if it has racing history :D

If I'm just as rich as Donald Trump........man I'll buy exotics such as:

    1. Lamborghini AVENTADOR

    2. McLaren F1 LM in papaya orange.....if I can find one for sale which is hard, but if I cannot find one I'll settle for the MP4-12C.

    3. Ferrari F50 if I can find one for sale which is also hard! If not, a 458 would do!

    4. Porsche GT2 RS in arrest me red color with a carbon fiber hood.

    5. Pagani HUAYRA

    6. Koenigsegg AGERA

    7. R35 Skyline GT-R ( Highly Tuned to 800+ hp ) as a my daily car

Naked CF please. The car is so hot I would stop wanting other cars, period. Look at those details. I swear I could take 100 pictures of details worthy as a desktop background, and that is not the case with Koenigseggs, Carrera GT's, Enzo etc.

"money no object" is not the way to start these threads imo. everybody immediately goes to the top of the tree, and that is just no fun.

given dale's first picks, then i guess we are saying around 500k to 1 mil, rather than bugatti atalante territory. you also have to discount any car you may already own - sorry jim.

now the discussion can get interesting.

under these conditions, my top 10 choices would be
    - any pagani
    - merc clk gtr
    - porsche gt1
    - ferrari enzo
    - ferrari 275gtb any
    - mercedes gullwing
    - mercedes 300 sl roadster
    - ferrari daytona spider (obviously one that needs work in order to fit into price range)
    - lamborghini miura (whichever one that fits the range)
    - any duesenberg that fits this budget

Nice call. I wasn't even aware of this car.

    Therein lies the rub, eh?

Tru dat. I'd also like to ask for those lusting after a 250 GTO, assuming you could find someone to sell you one, have you ever tried to sit in one. A bit tight. A bit tight.

What Maser is that? Wow, that is one of the best looking cars I have seen in a while.

Cool car, but a tad touchy to drive. I saw one at Mt. Tremblant where the front end got light going over the small rise on the back straight. The car ended up playing tractor in the grass, which was not its intended use. :) Keep in mind, the car was going straight at the time.

No nostalgia factor here as these cars were conceived before I was born; nonetheless, I would pursue one or more of the following race cars in order of priority:

    P3/4 Spyder
    910 Spyder
    TR59
    550RSK.

And keep my 328 and 911 as street cars.

I love the speed and engineering in the zonda, the looks just don't do it for me. Same as the veyron. Though I'd give about anything to get the chance to give either a run.
